They wanted Hilary and felt Hilary was the better candidate. And technically she did win. It took alot of fukkery to get Trump in office. Let’s not pretend that he destroyed her at the polls. He cheated. Heavily. And the Superdelegates don’t have to pick the candidate the people choose. That’s the entire point of them being Superdelegates. They’re there to be the adults in the room, to make sure the person that’s picked represents the culture of the party, isn’t simply an demagogue that uninformed voters were mesmerized by, and can actually win a general election. Let’s imagine a Democratic version of Trump was able to con and bullshyt his way to not having the majority but having the most pledged delegates. That nightmare could easily happen. You’re saying that person should win if he tricked enough people into believing his bullshyt. The superdelegates are there to say nah and put in the candidate that better represents the party. People are so quick to tear down institutions as if those institutions weren’t put in place for a reason by people who thought long and hard about the issue. Go look up what happen BEFORE superdelegates were a thing. And IIRC, Hilary had a shyt ton more superdelegates than Obama in 2008. He was such a once in a lifetime candidate that they all switched.
