Slash a third of the military weapons' budget, and you can fund free public education to the PHD level as well as Medicare 4 All. Problem solved. We have missiles that cost over a billion (!) each and its been collecting dust for decades.
I hate the militarism of our nation as well. But due to that people hate us, they hate us a lot.
Our economy is artificially supported by our militarism, if ppl weren't scared of us most wouldn't do business with us or have the dollar is the world currency.

I still think that slashing the military budget and diverting the funds for healthcare, education and infrastructure would do wonders for this country and help us catch up to the rest of the world. I get ur point. But I got deep into this about a couple years ago.
Being slightly bigger isn’t their goal or model. The ppl that believe in the model (which is 100% the model were on) is that you need to be 3-5 times larger than your closest enemy.
If we spend 10 mill and China spends 9 mill. You think a one mill difference is going to scare China or keep them in line? No.
I don’t believe in it but that’s who the USA is. It’s not changing.
