What happened to blue no matter who? Where moderates heading if Bernie wins the nom with another leftist on the ticket? Trump? They writing in Warren? Doubt it, and if they do it will kill a lot of talking points they have along with the party itself really.
"blue no matter who" WILL happen in 2020 :yeshrug:

trump is gonna be acting like a huge fakkit leading up to the election, and the democrat base is gonna be wicked pissed off. democrat voters are NOT staying home in 2020 :dead:

i say that as a democrat voter who stayed home in 2016. there are MILLIONS of people like me who realized how bad they fukked up by letting this idiot into office

i keep saying the more affluent, especially conservative affluent, end of the party can weather 4 more years of trump better than the working class wing. if they don't believe in the policy changes bernie is promoting and he makes no gesture to include someone ingratiated to them (that doesn't mean they have to be a moderate themselves - barbara lee is always the example i give), they may stay home.

and you can have all your talking points, the reality is if the rift between the two ends remains or deepens amongst voters - not just party heads/media - then the dem party, as it is now, will not be viable.

Why do Berners think Nina Turner would be a good VP pick? Y’all have to get out of that bubble.

"…maybe not of the same gender that I am, and maybe somebody who might be a couple years younger than me, and somebody who can take the progressive banner as vice-president and carry it all over this country to help us with our agenda…"

If we're going off of Bernie's criteria Nina is a more reasonable pick than fukking Amy Klobuchar, can't believe what I'm reading in this thread.

You would think being in lock step with nap on any issue would give people pause to reconsider

You would think some of the same old nonsense getting trotted out would be easily uprooted

or this could be read as those candidates with higher deflection are bringing in more people from the fringe, the people we need to bring into the fold, as opposed to bernie's safe, yet unreliable urban poor and angry youth coalition

Bernie's been said he's running with a progressive woman of color we can put that to bed. If it's about unity at that end it won't matter.

First of all, Kamala Harris and Nina Turner ain't the same kind of "black". Secondly I didn't say people would support her JUST because of that factor, they would support her because they support the movement that she represents. What it does help is if it were to be seen as likely that she would be his successor it may excite black voters, particularly female at least before we get to the GE because if he makes it that far he's going to get the black vote anyway.

I guess Amy Klobachar it is :russ:

Do we have to do the bold?

Anyway, I don't know. In Bernie Sanders' case, he is weak with older black voters, most of whom do not support the movement. Are the optics of "second-in-line" enough? In what ways could Nina appeal to them vs. Biden x (his running mate)?

That's why the attempts to paint her as an elite and as a candidate for the elites is a bad.
