Warm and fuzzy feelings combined with a youthful appeal.

I think we often overrate how little the average American cares or understands actual policy.

He ultimately won’t get anywhere because of the black vote but his delivery is going to resonate with a certain group.
I know who is falling for him, but I don’t think it’s his message as much as the package. Either way, it won’t be enough. And if the Dems trot him out there as the nominee, that will be one of the biggest “fukk you’s” to their black base and I hope we do decide to stay home because of it.

He has plain spoken policies that would increase the quality of life for a lot of folks and have a realistic chance at passing.

He's young. He has some governing experience. He's seen as a DC outsider.

If he weren't gay he'd probably be in a stronger position.

Nobody cares about his sexuality, people keep on mentioning on here.

It's his track record within his on town. The absolute smugness he has when he talks to his own people in his own town.

He cleaned up his act and got told to do the way of his advisor, but the facts still are there in his own town.

The mere fact that he has a major problem with black people in his own town. If there is smoke there usually is a fire. Pete isn't getting the node that I know.

in the general, people certainly will. That chick in Iowa asking for her vote back won’t be the last reaction like that, especially if repubs find ways to control the narrative on his sexuality through their disinformation networks. That will leak into the dem voter base and the religious/conservative Dems and swing voters will be affected by it

edit: and it’s one thing to know he’s gay, but once the republicans leak kissing or intimate pictures of them...hell nah

Bruh...they will absolutely care.

Best believe if he’s somehow the nominee Republicans will weaponize and publicize his sexuality in swing states. Hell there are Democrats voting in the primary that care

He’s still relatively unknown on the national stage but god help him, because the “gay” stories they are probably digging up on him.

Yeah, it can have an effect but my reason for quoting that cat was to shed light on the real reason people don't like Pete. There is no way your getting the node or should get the node in the dem race if my own people in your own town hate your guts.

He isn't making out of the south and shouldn't. Out of all the candidates, he has the few black leaders pledging their support to him.

How does everyone in this thread keep forgetting this. HL isn't a sample size of the general population.

Nor is Iowa or NH reflective of the coalition it takes to win the nomination. Pete will not win out over sanders or biden or warren or even Bloomberg...if he does, that will be the most engineered nomination ever that will definitely bite them in the ass.

Every one of the candidates shyts on Pete...even Amy and Steyer killed the boy :wow:

Being empathetic to your base is what counts. And thats what pete can do better than any other candidate right now.

Can you elaborate on how he does that better than Andrew Yang, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren?
