:ehh:

I trust that all of these things will be considered when drafting the legislation.

If it were me I'd argue against the idea that hospitals have to turn a profit.

We don't expect fire and police departments to turn profits. :yeshrug:
id argue you'd want your hospital to be up to date so they should be making some type of money, especially if they are tinkering around inside of you :dame:

like in your coronary artery for example :yeshrug: :troll:

them charging 100$ for ibuprofen 200 is another thing tho

can y’all not read average people vs average income? There are a lot of everyday people making six figures, they are average everyday people as their income comes from wages. They lose their job they struggle like anyone else, they’re not sitting on fortunes. They’re working hard to have attained that life and yes, 20k extra going missing will not be a drop in the bucket
But they aren't, the median household income is what like 60k? People making nearly 3.5x that are average people? Being in the top ~5% makes you average?

The idea that average people will be missing 20k a year is a bit flawed to say the least.

Iono, breh.

Every other country in the OECD got a bunch of different ways to do this.

We've got enough examples to create a plan for ourselfs.

I can read, just disappointed to see the same arguments we’ll hear Trump make.

:picard:

200k is upper class breh. Your average person, or even your average household, is not making 200k pet year. In fact I think one person making 100k is not even upper middle class, but straight up upper class.

Edit: Not even 100k. Take away like 20k and that;s still upper class.
"For its purposes, the Pew Research Center considers a household to be upper class if its income is double the U.S. median household income. This means that, on average, a single person living alone needs to make just $78,281 to be considered upper class."
It’s not upper class, Upper middle class - Wikipedia

And the distinction is further complicated by geography

well lets pray to God dear leader is more forgiving than the bros and lets Liz draft up the legislation and doesnt send her to central park with the rest of the traitors

but i agree the main point is the system is horribly broken and even if you dont like medicare for all you cant argue in any way that the system is sustainable the way it is for much longer

I don’t even get this comment...that’s the exact point I was trying to make :what:

Trying to describe people who make 200k a year as average...so that you can then make the argument that average people will lose an extra 20k in taxes because of Bernie? Should I really believe that this is an objective argument made in good faith?

:jbhmm:What I'm gleaning from this discussion is that Bernie supporters want what's best for 99% of people but every other candidates' stans are primarily concerned with what's best for them personally.

There are checks and balances though. It's easy to come out and make the promises he's making, but how will he achieve them? And is his "plan" realistic? I'm also bothered by how he skirts any question that relates to what he will do for black people specifically. It's always mixed in with "people of color" and immigrants, etc.

Perhaps I'm wrong and missed something but that is my observation at this point at least.
