I saw this coming. The way the Celtics struggled in the ECF showed that GSW was superior, especially with Time Lord being hurt.

Assuming Ratings were gonna be shi regardless who wins....I think The league woulda been better off had Boston won. These young NBA reddit cac fans dont really like dynasties and genuinely enjoy seeing their hometown squads grow and thrive. Its what happening in the NHL, their online fanbase has exploded because in the NHL, there is a huge amount of parity. Anyone can win.

This isn’t true, the NFL is simply set up to succeed as they 1) only have one game per week, mainly on the weekend 2) put teams before players 3) have a clear pecking order of who is in charge - white owners and mainly white coaches who lord over black men - thus keeping middle America and the south engaged

let any of those elements start changing, teams playing 2-3 games/week and games on everyday, more player empowerment or letting star players beyond the QB get shine and their ratings would start dropping

I also think that if the QB position itself became majority black , numbers would go down.

The QB position is the leader/brains of the team and must remain majority white.

Also the QB position doesn't rely on athleticism so the average cac sees HIMSELF in that position

I don't care if the ratings get to 2.0 I'm going to always watch it because I love basketball not the narratives around a team or player. Viewership has went down for any genre of televison since 1988 so The NBA finals is not a exception. Also there's a certain group of people that don't like the NBA because of the money the players of today are making, so they say it's too woke to cover up the fact they are jealous of black athletes making this type of money.

It has helped that the NHL is now on ESPN and TBS/TNT that being on NBCSN. Their may be more parity in the NHL but the Tampa Bay Lighting has a chance to three peat.

I watch the NFL too, but their players don't got as much say so then NBA players, and they still don't get paid even close to the NBA players on a average comparison. Also while the NBA owners are all white expect MJ, they are more Intune with the players and fans then the NFL which don't want to upset their fanbases. Kaepernick will never play in the NFL ever again, while if he was in the NBA and Kneeled he would still be playing today.

Yes there's something they can do. Stop calling stupid fouls every 5 seconds. We watch the NBA to watch the players not the refs. It's fukked up that some refs are more famous to fans than some guys on bad teams.

Everything having to be reviewed is one reason I don't watch as much (on top of other reasons). I'm not sure how much that would be happening if the league wasn't "in bed" with Vegas

You can say they called more fouls back in the day, but they didn’t turn every foul into an episode of law and orde. Today, a foul is replayed over and over again to determine how egregious a foul is (when everything looks deliberate in slow motion) and it grinds play to a halt.
