It's so weird the different cultures in college sports

College basketball fans would riot if you didn't let the mid majors compete in the tournament (Yes I know 64 and 12 are wildly different numbers)

If you don't want them to be able to compete for a championship then just run two separate championships. If not then you have to give them a chance

it's just fans who are mad about their team not making it in. There's no real logic behind it.

Feeder system should be rewarded. If not, then why are they even division I? If you don't want them in the tournament then they should be I-AA

New rule if you're not in a P4 conference you cannot be a in P4 playoffs. Boom problem solved

Texas lost to them while they had Napier but point taken. That game regardless is why Texas is out. Texas at 10-2 with losses to OSU and Georgia is in the playoff.

There's no benefit in them joining a conference (at least for football). This cry for them to do so is futile. They get all the money, have more say so and control over their schedule, and have a unique TV contract that guarantees exposure every week. Joining a conference would be hustling backwards for them.

It's really not. If you aren't giving them a chance then they shouldn't be in division 1 and you shouldn't be scheduling them.
