I'm currently on a 36 hour fast as I type this. Just trying it out with my friend. She does them pretty often. First one I tried for 48 hours I saw about 6 lbs drop but it all came back when I started eating again a week later

The thing about fasting as far as losing weight is if you fast for 2 days then eat 3,000 calories for the next 3 days it defeats the purpose of fasting. I will say for sure I feel better when I fast from eating less because I don't think we need to eat 3 meals a day and a lot of the foods we do it now days aren't healthy or natural.I've been doing a lot of reading on fasting, I suggest some of you do the same. @Swagnificent was on point in this thread. There are many benefits to fasting, hormonal and physiological, that exceed simple calorie restriction and diet modification. There is nothing new about fasting, its been in existence since the beginning of man and has been practiced for millennia. In the last 50 years there has been a considerable uptick in research on the matter. People in here calling it a fad are inaccurate.

This is not healthy, and won't teach him how to keep the weight off, which is ultimately the long term goal.Easily possible. Just start fasting. And not that intermittent fasting bullshyt. You need to do PROLONGED FASTING. Build a habit of fasting 72-96 hrs back to back to back. Eat only 1 meal every 3-4 days and you'll melt off all that fat in about 3 months.
