@MarciknoW with keto you can drop that in a year to a year and a half. It’s hard work and requires a lot of dedication and consistency but it’s 100% doable with minimal exercise and no fasting (unless you count < 8 hrs of sleep as fasting).

No point in stepping foot in a gym if your diet is trash. You’d be sabotaging yourself.

Hope often do you fast?

I'm currently on a 36 hour fast as I type this. Just trying it out with my friend. She does them pretty often. First one I tried for 48 hours I saw about 6 lbs drop but it all came back when I started eating again a week later

I do 72-96 hour fasts every week right now. Typically that works out to eating on Monday and Friday. My eating window is about one hour. I try to eat as much as I can in that window without making myself sick. I'm doing this cause I'm in a pretty aggressive cut down right now. I want to get down to a sub-10% body fat.

Then when I'm super lean I will increase my food intake to one meal every 24 hours. I'll be eating high protein/low carb meals in this time period so I can add lean muscle mass. Once I reach my optimal weight of roughly 160 lbs at sub-10% body fat I will go to one meal every 48 hours.

Everyone's body is different. But what I've discovered is for me eating every 72-96 hours leads to massive weight loss. Eating every 24-48 hours leads to decent matienance. I neither gain or lose weight. Once I reach my body weight and composition goals I will stick to doing 24-48 hour fasts.

The wonderful thing about this lifestyle is I can eat whatever I want without ever gaining weight. I just need to fast for 48 hours and whatever I eat will be used by my body and not stored as fat. This is the best way to stay ripped all year round.

Go low carb/keto. Give up sugar and carbs and you will see great results. It's a life style change though.

I lost 100lbs 410 to 310 in about 7 months.

What good is living if you can't eat any carbs?

When you fast you can still eat carbs and lose fat.

Fat people get fat cause they love food. Telling them the only way to get in good shape is to abstain from the foods they love is not gonna be very appealing.

@Swagnificent ,

Also, do you still work out while fasting?

Absolutely. Working out in a fasted state is far better for fat loss than working out after you eat.

You just need to listen to your body on how hard you can go. Typically I have good energy 24-48 hours into a fast. I feel no different than if I ate. However by 72-96 hours my energy falls a bit. So I just listen to my body on how hard I should work. I typically do my intensive lifts 24-48 hours into my fast. Then I do cardio 72-96 hours into my fast. Nothing too intensive on those cardio days. But still you burn loads of fat just walking on the treadmill after not eating for 96 hours.

Then I refeed and start all over. Now this is my routine for cutting. When I start bulking I will start to eat more cause I'll be focused on building lean muscle mass. But right now my lifting protocol is about maintaining what muscle I do have while aggressively trying to shed body fat.

I've been doing a lot of reading on fasting, I suggest some of you do the same. @Swagnificent was on point in this thread. There are many benefits to fasting, hormonal and physiological, that exceed simple calorie restriction and diet modification. There is nothing new about fasting, its been in existence since the beginning of man and has been practiced for millennia. In the last 50 years there has been a considerable uptick in research on the matter. People in here calling it a fad are inaccurate.

The thing about fasting as far as losing weight is if you fast for 2 days then eat 3,000 calories for the next 3 days it defeats the purpose of fasting. I will say for sure I feel better when I fast from eating less because I don't think we need to eat 3 meals a day and a lot of the foods we do it now days aren't healthy or natural.

Eat less and work out more. Burn more calories than you consume.

Have loose skin brehs....:mjlol:

That's only an issue for the extremely obese. And even then loose skin that can be surgically removed is a decent trade off to being extremely unhealthy.

If you are just overweight then you won't have loose skin because when you fast you actually can build muscle at the same time you are losing fat and change your body composition.

Fasting has no downsides.

Easily possible. Just start fasting. And not that intermittent fasting bullshyt. You need to do PROLONGED FASTING. Build a habit of fasting 72-96 hrs back to back to back. Eat only 1 meal every 3-4 days and you'll melt off all that fat in about 3 months.
This is not healthy, and won't teach him how to keep the weight off, which is ultimately the long term goal.

That's why you gotta make fasting a lifestyle and not a fad. If you fast consistently you will lose fat at a rapid rate. You'll also be much healthier overall. Its all about getting over the fear of being hungry. That's the only reason most people are against fasting. They assume they will be hungry all the time. When that isn't the case at all.

If fasting made me hungry, I wouldn't do it. But since my body has gotten accustomed to this new lifestyle, I'm never hungry now. The only reason I even eat after 72 hours is to refuel my body so that I can continue to lift. When you fast your body stops sending the hormonal signal to your brain that tells you to be hungry.
