Easily possible. Just start fasting. And not that intermittent fasting bullshyt. You need to do PROLONGED FASTING. Build a habit of fasting 72-96 hrs back to back to back. Eat only 1 meal every 3-4 days and you'll melt off all that fat in about 3 months.

Don't listen to this bullshyt. You'll lose weight way too quickly and have flabby skin. You want to maintain muscle.

Fasting doesn't cause muscle loss. It actually maintains your muscle mass better than caloric restriction. With that said when someone is real fat they don't need to worry about losing the little muscle mass they have. They should worry about losing fat. And yes a gradual decrease would be great but most of these people don't have the discipline for that. Once they plateau using normal caloric restriction they will lose confidence and go right back to their old ways and gain the weight right back.

The only way to lose all that weight and keep it off is to fast. Loose skin is a minimal trade off to finally losing all that fat. Hell I think there are even surgeries available now for people to get loose skin off after they lose the weight.

It's even less likely he would have the discipline to do full on fasting. When you are that big you are gonna get hungry, no way he goes a couple days without eating and if he did he'd probably ruin it by binge eating later on.

If he's serious about his health he will have to restrict calories and start with that and understand that it's not going to happen overnight.

OMAD doesn't work for people who are this overweight. Caloric restriction will only cause his body to reduce his metabolism as it gets used to the reduction in daily calories thus causing him to plateau. The only way to break through the plateau is to do continuous prolonged fasting. If he's 285 lbs he should be fasting A MINIMUM of 72-96 hours between every meal. He shouldn't be eating more than 2 meals a week.
Yes but I doubt he's just going to be able to jump into straight fasting a lot of people are scared and don't understand how beneficial it is.

He needs baby steps.

I currently fast 2 or 3 days a week.

165 pounds is pretty small.

It depends on how tall you are, your build, and other things of that nature.

You'd have to start doing some cardiovascular exercises at minimum 4-5 days a week for at least 1 hour, cut your daily caloric intake to 1800-2000 calories, and get very discipline in those eating and exercise habits.

Your height and build is very important to know as well, because there is only going to be so low you can go. Someone with Shaq's height and build for example will never be 165 pounds, they'll lose weight for sure with proper diet and exercise, but no amount of cardio and dieting will get a person of that physique that low.

It's easier if you have someone keeping you accountable as well like a work out partner, trainer, etc.

Some of these posters are giving you unhealthy advice. That fasting and eating 1-2 meals a day isn't sustainable long term nor is it healthy. 4-5 low calorie meals would be ideal like 250-300 calories each.

Meal prep helps as well.

You have to commit to something that is sustainable.

.

False. I've done the fasting experiments myself. You don't feel hungry at all while fasting. People gotta realize that it isn't a lack of food that causes hunger, its a hormone known as Ghrelin. Our body when it runs low on food will send this hormonal signal to the brain telling us to eat. However, if you power through that short burst of Ghrelin you'll notice that the hunger goes away. Also Gherlin doesn't build the longer you go without eating. What happens is your body gets used to the lack of food and stops sending that hormone all together. Your body then just starts feeding on its own stored fat through a process known as ketosis. Once you enter ketosis you stop feeling hungry.

As long as you do the initial 72-96 hour fast and detox yourself from the inevitable sugar withdrawal it'll be smooth sailing from then on. People who are very fat can actually fast the longest because they have the most stored fat. There are obese people who have gone for 300+ days without any food. Their body just keeps feeding on all that fat they have stored and doesn't make them hungry. If homeboy who started this thread wanted he could actually fast for the next 6 months with zero food and get all the energy he needs from his stored fat reserves.

Ya'll need to stop fearing fasting. Its literally the most natural thing you can do. Our bodies were designed to FEAST then FAST.

LOL. You literally gave him the worst advice possible.

Eating with that much frequency (4-5 meals per day) even if he cuts his caloric intake will still keep his insulin levels high all throughout the day. What you need to understand is what controls how much weight we gain versus how much we lose is our HORMONES. In particular the hormone insulin. If your insulin levels are high all day then you'll be storing the excess glucose (aka blood sugar) your body doesn't use as fat. The only to get your body to start using your stored fat as fuel is to lower your insulin levels. And the best way to lower insulin levels is to fast. Once you fast for 36-48 hours your insulin levels will drop to the point that your body will enter ketosis and start burning the stored fat as energy.

Eating constantly is the reason people don't lose weight. Its because they never allow their insulin levels to drop to a point where ketosis can start.

The sheer amount of terrible advice in this thread :dead:

LMAO @ only eat one meal a week

One meal a week is easily doable for someone his size. I'm currently 172 lbs and in the middle of my own 7 day fast. I don't have as much fat stored as he does and I'm able to do it with relative ease. For someone who is much larger fasting is actually easier cause they have more stored fat to burn as fuel.

The main reason I'm doing this 7 day fast is because of the incredible health benefits. When you fast for more than 5 days straight your body does a lot of incredible things. It starts clearing out all the unhealthy cells in your body. When we eat all the time our body has use all its energy with clearing that food out of our system. However, once we stop eating our body can redirect its energy resources to other things that can make us healthy. Cleaning itself out of its unhealthy cells is one of the things it does when we start fasting. Our body also starts increasing the amount of stem cells in your body. If you don't remember what stem cells are from science class, they are special cells in our body that have the ability to turn into any cell. So not only does your body start cleaning out all the bad cells it also starts creating new healthy cells to take its place. When you fast this long you also get an increase in growth hormones. When we're children we have a lot of growth hormones in our body. But as we age those growth hormones begin to decrease. When you fast you kinda turn the clock back in your body as it starts producing more growth hormone than it would normally produce at your current age. This is why a lot of people begin to look younger when they start fasting.

Fasting is so beneficial that some people who are really skinny will intentionally gain body fat just so they can do these prolonged week long fasts so they can get the amazing health benefits.

It’s funny because he’s serious and not trolling.
My advice for losing 100+ without surgery, keto and Omad it works.

OMAD Keto is bullshyt. For one you'll never get the amount of protein you need for optimal protein synthesis to build muscle that way. Next, you actually need carbohydrates if you're gonna train hard in the gym (zero carbs = p*ssy workouts). Also keto diets cause lower testosterone levels. And I don't know about you but as a man I have zero interest in losing testosterone. All in all unless you're a woman, a keto diet is not the way to go.

Most men want to not only lose fat but also build muscle. To build muscle you'll need to consume lots of protein and a healthy amount of carbs to have that energy to go hard in the gym. The only way to consume the optimal amount of protein and carbs to build muscle but also not eat too much so that you also lose fat is to FAST. And when I mean fast I mean prolonged fasts. A minimum of 48 hours between every meal. And when you have those meals they should be meals filled with lots of carbs and protein. This will give you optimal energy to build muscle but you'll also be losing fat as your body will enter ketosis on that second day of the fast burning body fat.
