I lost 56 pounds by doing these steps

-no pop
-no alcohol
-drink plenty of water
-try to stop eating out often
-eat those plain Cheerios for breakfast with a banana. Avoid sweet cereals and pancakes.
-squeeze in some vegetables
-no eating past 8:00pm
-limit sodium intake to 1,500 mg a day
-Workout at least 4 days a week. Burn at least 1000 calories on the treadmill

:lupe: On average, how much time does it take to accomplish this?

I'm hitting the gym this year and I know for a fact that my routine will start off with treadmill before I work on whatever core/section for that session.

Real shyt.

I'm about to break a 110 hour fast today (my longest ever). The last 72 hours or so being dry (no food or water). It was tough but very rewarding.

At the rate I'm going right now, I'm about to lose 30 lbs in 30 days. Almost all of it being body fat since I'm still lifting the same in the gym.

You probably can't lift for crap in that condition. You're definitely not building muscle that's for sure.

Burning 1000 calories on the treadmill is REALLY hard (unless you are like 300 lbs). an hour on the treadmill had me between 400-600 calories. The more in shape that I got, the less calories I would burn

Word? Should I even be on the threadmill for more than an hour? I know I have a tendency to slack off and find a nice "Groove" but that's not what I want, I'm looking to push and get my body out of this sedentary comfort zone we've been in for two plus decades.

Yeah I wouldn’t suggest lifting while fasting.

You have the energy for it but I don’t know how beneficial it would be.

An hour straight is just a long as time. At 1 point I would do 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. I would also lift at night to maintain muscle.

But that was back then before I discovered better forms of cardio. Specifically the airdyne bike and battle ropes. They take way less time and increase your metabolism throughout the day unlike the treadmill

I already wake up early enough as if for my job so Morning workouts aren't feasible at this point so all my work has to be done in the evening/night time. The gym I'm fixing to join more than likely won't have Battle ropes so I guess I could cut half an hour on the treadmill and use both mill and bike before I go to lift.

Right now I'm just thinking/musing since I've still no gym experience, so forgive me if I'm asking/talking like a newbie because I really am, but I do appreciate the knowledge man, for real.

Fasting for spiritual purposes makes sense to me. The clarity you get is matched only by intense meditation. Fasting for dietary reasons though, seems like a shortcut to an eating disorder. The best "diets" are the sustainable ones and for a vast number of reasons (willpower, practicality, etc.) long term fasting is not a path to health.

Fasting for 48-72 hours is easily sustainable. That's how we evolved to eat.

I already had plenty of muscle. It was just covered with fat. Lose all the fat and keep most of the muscle is what I'm going for. I ain't trying to be swole. I wanna be cut. Like Brad Pitt in fight club.

You don't need much muscle to look shredded. You just need to have a very low body fat% to look good and be healthy.

Depends on how flabby you are. The more flabby the more calories you burn. Running for 45 minutes should be good enough

Dude said he lost 58lbs in 18 months, idk what his routine was, but you can easily aim for 6lbs/month. You'll lose more than that as a beginner

Intermittent fasting with an 18 hr fast /6 hour eating window

Paired with carb cycling and clean eating
Literally this simple. Folks becoming emaciated to lose lbs real quick when this works and is actually healthy and sustainable
