Google search unions in your state and or city and see which ones are closest to you
Hours usually 40 a week and it depends on who wants you for it
I'm at 14 an hour right now but every year you move up you get a dollar raise (some locals like mine make you test for this although )
As the title states, 2 weeks
And it depends on the contractor usually, mine tests at 10 percent so it's like probably one random test.
1. If you’re trash at math should you not do the trade?
2. What if you fail the math aptitude test?
3. Do they have classes to help you with math?
4. Can you do this with a bad back?
5. What part of Florida are you in?
6. What age do you think is the latest to start the trade?
7. Does the union treat you good like up north? I heard up north the job security is better or something with the union.

1. If you're trash at math you good as long as you can measure add, divide, and subtract, simple shyt
2. You fail the aptitude test you might still get and interview but again, it's very simple so as long as you get basic shyt right you good
3.they should have some tutors but it'll depend on your local, mine does

6. Once you're in your 40's to me youre pushing it especially if you're green but if you used to hard work it don't matter
7. My union is possibly the best in the state so they treat us very well and the community is very friendly and supportive of each other

Yeah you've got to pass tests so that you can move up into the next year's classes, that's why my union is good because you can't just bullshyt, you can still get paid more if the contractor wants to pay you more but usually that doesn't happen because if you fail your tests then it shows a lack of competence and that's risky

it's honestly the best union. I"m in Chicago and when we were 20, a friends father told all of us to apply to the union when they were taking apps.
Only 1 of us did and he went through his apprenticeship and was caking before any of the rest of us got setup good in our careers. Up north there's TONS of construction going on, it did go down a bit after 2008 and he sat for a while without a union gig, he was too busy flexing on us to have actually saved any money. But he just did freelance work till in between jobs til things picked up. The last almost 10 years its non stop work tho.

Cacs got IUOE locked down here in Chi, definitely the hardest union to get into out this way

It's a long commitment and if he quits should he get in he'd have to pay back the tuition so he has time to think till New registration is open
The work isn't too complicated or difficult either, if he can play games he can do this too

If I didn't meet her though I'm not sure I'd stay in that local anyway though, it's Jacksonville and they were country as hell and I felt like an extreme token with a bunch of hicks. But I appreciate what I did learn
