:ehh: $15/hr federal mandated minimum isnt gonna break seattle or any city with over 750k people in general because they were already there or close to it ...the jump from 13-15 wont affect Mcdonalds or Wal mart

the people it will decimate are the rural areas and small towns the places you could live decently on $8 or $10/hr their small employers will have to raise prices immediately and slowly kill off their customer base and die slowly or just close their doors for good

They should call this the "Ghost town law" because thats what it will create in abundance

Don't forget Clinton and other liberals who tentatively endorse a $15 minimum wage in the US while simultaneously working through the state department (spurred on by lobbying interests like Hanes, fruit of the loom, and Levi's) to keep the minimum wage in Haiti at a quarter an hour instead of 65 cents.

:pachaha:Ya'll really in here acting like the market is paying people as little as they can when reality is only like 4% of worker sin this country make the federal minimum wage. It goes up a bit for minimum wage period but ya'll need to stop.
The market values the VAST majority of workers higher than the minimum.


This is really about the cost of living:mjpls:ya'll just want to put a band-aid on the issue(raise the min wage).

Because it doesnt address the real issue, which is an artificially high cost of living.:ufdup:
Because there are far better solutions if we are willing to work towards them:sas1:
Because we should want govt. directly intervening in the market as little as possible.:usure:
Because the percentage goes up, giving more credence to future increases :damn:
Because minimum wage increases are not cost free... and those cost appear to be paid by those at the bottom(blacks):wow:
