No we're not and it's not even close

NYC averaged around 2,000 murders a year in the 80's. The peak was 1990 with 2,600. There were only 300 and change in 2019. Just because there weren't bloods and crips it doesn't mean things were better.

in the 90s I remember Some bloods, Latin kings. My Pops Was in the black spade in the Bronx I’m the 70s. But it’s never been like this. Bloods, crips, folks, and huge alliances of various gang sets. The Gang shyt is beyond out of control
