My generation took the licks for these nikkas, I remember when nikkas had to hide their mangas in a binder.
I don't even enjoy anime anymore because there's so much, it seems like an overstimulation.

Now I hide it because people do weird shyt around it. Getting into shouting matches over their favorite female characters and shyt.

Forget a well told story with characters who grow and change like people should.

They do this shyt online and in public now. Ugh.

As someone with nerdy interests I kinda see where you are coming from. TBH posting on The Coli which focuses on two topics which are usually considered "cool" IRL, Sports and Hip Hop..... showed me that even fans of those forms of entertainment can be weird




The booth and Coliseum discussions have a bunch of 40 year old men in parasocial relationships with basketball players and rappers






Growing up talking Sports and Hip Hop was pretty fun, on The Coli you have people taking those forms of entertainment serious AF and legit be in their feelings when someone says something bad about their favorite rapper or athlete



Its like how does a bunch of teenagers from the hood have a more civilized discussion about and sports and hip hop than a bunch of grown men with IT jobs that live in suburban neighborhoods and date pawgs

Maybe, it's way more acceptable now to shout from the rooftops why Naruto is the greatest anime ever made while wearing a headband in public.

I'm in my mid 30s so I grew up in the "Don't talk about it much unless with close friends" era. Now I talk about it more openly, but that is where it ends.
Unless I'm shytting on Dragon Ball Z or One Piece to get someone upset for the shyts

Currently it feels like an over correction though, but I personally hate drawing unwanted attention to myself so just take this as the ramblings of a random on the interwebs.

It’s just not for me man, I will acknowledge the dope ass animations and stories, but it’s just not for me.

If you dont like anime try watching these (its mostly the story thats good):
Erased, The promised neverland, Code Geass, Gundam the origin, and HunterXhunter (chimera arc), and Attack on Titan. Attack on titan starts off slow but if you really want to watch a show about how hate begets hate watch it. Honorable mention to Steins Gate. All the anime I recommended are thrillers.

Anime got too focused on fan service and that took me out many many years ago. Also I most of the stuff that is brought here are aimed at teens. Back in the 80s and 90s they had a lot of dope anime for mature audiences

One of the things that makes gen z extra corny is how they make it a big deal that they even watch that shyt still in 2025.


You such a loser to make that shyt yo identity and act like it is such a big deal. Like you defying a major law to watch that shyt.

Mafukkas would watch anime back in the 80s and 90s and go about their day. shyt wasn't nothing to brag about. Mafukkas wasn't going around looking for attention for watching Golgo 13.
