I remember when manga were released like western comics by Viz and Dark Horse. I think Marvel released some too really early on.

I'm not surprised. One of the biggest strengths of anime is that they can tell all sort of stories, there is so much variety. Anyone is bound to find something they like. Meanwhile western animation remained focus on rhe kids demographics.

Got you, I probably got clowned behind my back but most of my guys were watching anime; guys who played football/basketball, regular degular average bros and the nerds.

I seen this video of Micheal B Jordan and Tim Charlemagne with some anime, these guys are conventionally cool. Pretty privilege, cool privilege or whatever we call it is real lol
