Tank won’t be competitive or get clean shots on Haney?

In the great words of Roger Mayweather, "you don't know shyt about boxing". It's funny how the man with superior "boxing" skills always get the onus put on them to put themselves in danger, instead of their opponent creating danger for them. Jo Jo and Kambosas both fought Devin coming off career best performances where they stood in the cross fire, pressed forward, and risked it all. Is it Devin's fault that his skill set puts these FORMER WORLD CHAMPIONS in cement? You can't possibly be a boxing fan and call a man boring when he just became the first undisputed fighter in that division since Sweet Pea......who had even less pop and was equally defensive minded. Sweet Pea was universally adored and was a hall of famer, yet it gets worse for the next 15 years with Devin? You new fans are wild.Sure you are.

Crazy how low that number is. Floyd's PPV with Logan Paul generated 1 Million PPV BUYS. He was routinely selling 2-4 Million PPV's in his prime. We have a free Championship matchup on ESPN and it got less than 1 Million views.
I'm trying to imagine what the ratings would be if Floyd-Pac fought on ESPN during their primes during the era where everyone had cable. They could have got 15-20 Million views easily.
Nothing about that number is low. This was Devin's first fight on the platform after leaving a paid subscription service against a guy no one knew prior to last year. And no one else in history has done 2M PPV buys other than Floyd. That shouldn't be the standard.
Mayweather, who is the gold standard, was outclassing and demolishing opponents at DH’s age and at that weight class. You don’t get faster and stronger going up in weight. You go up for bigger fights and/or it becomes harder to make weight. You don’t know shyt about boxing. So, if DH was nice, he’d be able to stick, move, and destroy guys now. He can’t. DH went pro at 17 to become a prizefighter. He shows off his jewelry and stunt because he aspires to be a top prizefighter. Performances like Saturday do not get him there. Casuals don’t gaf about titles unless both parties fighting for them are huge stars.
Even with that title, DH has to call out Tank and Ryan for a mega fight not vice versa. I understand it. Haney did what he had to do but on the business side, he did himself no favors and the fight was a dud.
I think the point @2legit should have made is those numbers are low for an undisputed fight for as much reach ESPN has. It was on ESPN not ESPN2 or ESPNEWS. ESPN!!!
Gervonta averaged 577,000 on Showtime (a premium network) against Gamboa in 2019, for example. The same but older Gamboa that DH promised he’d KO in an earlier round to show how he’s a superior fighter to Tank, only create another dud without scoring a single KD.

Damn near, if not all, the boxers in history don't meet the standard of Floyd Mayweather. Why are you reaching for Floyd's name to discredit DH? You act like there's no success in the game unless you do it at Floyd's level. And if we're being honest, he's going a lot harder than Floyd was when he was 23 as far as his business and money. But since we're on the Floyd comparison, wasn't Floyd on his 3rd weight class before he touched PPV? So not only has DH become the youngest undisputed (something Floyd never done) champion EVER, but you've already "paid" to see him fight. Every one of his last 3 or more fights have been on a paid subscription service. I don't care about what's being typed or said. Money talks. This weekend was his first fight on that platform and he almost beat out Shakur, who has Olympic pedigree and has been on the platform his entire career, for the most watched fight of the year on ESPN. He already has an audience that's spent the last few years "paying" to watch him fight and his numbers reflected that Saturday. He only gained fans. Athletes, actors, other boxers, former boxers, etc all got a tweet out there about Devin this weekend. The "face of boxing" literally just fought a few weeks ago, and I dare you to say Canelo's fight moved the needle like this fight did. You're being overly critical.
Devin and his Pops went and got it out the mud in Mexico while Tank was getting Floyd undercard looks and Shakur was getting Olympic network TV coverage. Not only has his accomplishments in the ring matched or surpassed them, but he's already doing comparable numbers on TV. The wild thing about these conversations is that people think there can only be one star. No one ever said he'd be the biggest star. I challenged the notion that this fight didn't provide the necessary push his stardom needed. It absolutely did.
