Damn near, if not all, the boxers in history don't meet the standard of Floyd Mayweather. Why are you reaching for Floyd's name to discredit DH? You act like there's no success in the game unless you do it at Floyd's level. And if we're being honest, he's going a lot harder than Floyd was when he was 23 as far as his business and money. But since we're on the Floyd comparison, wasn't Floyd on his 3rd weight class before he touched PPV? So not only has DH become the youngest undisputed (something Floyd never done) champion EVER, but you've already "paid" to see him fight. Every one of his last 3 or more fights have been on a paid subscription service. I don't care about what's being typed or said. Money talks. This weekend was his first fight on that platform and he almost beat out Shakur, who has Olympic pedigree and has been on the platform his entire career, for the most watched fight of the year on ESPN. He already has an audience that's spent the last few years "paying" to watch him fight and his numbers reflected that Saturday. He only gained fans. Athletes, actors, other boxers, former boxers, etc all got a tweet out there about Devin this weekend. The "face of boxing" literally just fought a few weeks ago, and I dare you to say Canelo's fight moved the needle like this fight did. You're being overly critical.
I never paid for Haney because I never paid for DAZN and if I did, it wouldn’t be to watch Devin “The Dream” Haney. I sure left my folks dreaming Saturday when everyone fell asleep except me. I was huge on Haney before the Gamboa fight.

The money and career comparison with Floyd and DH is contrasted by the era which Floyd made better for DH. Haney was overpaid by DAZN and he got the bag, can’t front. Let’s take Tank and Ryan out, if he doesn’t rematch (no one wants to see that again) or Loma isn’t available, who does Haney fight as a headliner and it is profitable and eventful affair? Tank fights nobodies and still sell out with a fake belt. Haney is undisputed and the top dog, let’s see how much that is really worth.

Lastly, Tank, gotta bigger response after his fight he headlined, with actual stars in the building and watching on PPV. He did it in Brooklyn. Jojo Diaz sold majority of the tickets 🎟 in Haney’s adopted hometown of Las Vegas on Saturday only for Tank to outdo him with a last minute replacement, Isaac Cruz (practically made him a star), 3 hours away in LA on a Sunday night.

Devin and his Pops went and got it out the mud in Mexico while Tank was getting Floyd undercard looks and Shakur was getting Olympic network TV coverage. Not only has his accomplishments in the ring matched or surpassed them, but he's already doing comparable numbers on TV. The wild thing about these conversations is that people think there can only be one star. No one ever said he'd be the biggest star. I challenged the notion that this fight didn't provide the necessary push his stardom needed. It absolutely did.
Devin and Pops chose not to go the routes of Tank and Shakur. Respect to him but that’s on him.

For the bolded, no one outside of hardcore boxing fans are talking about Haney becoming undisputed. One thing I know is Top Rank ain’t fixing to pay Haney $4M/fight without proven revenue generation like DAZN did. That experiment failed with Terence Crawford.

No offense, but we don't care about any of this shyt here nor are we privy to any information of "devins metrics". The fight did good on espn, against a relatively unknown boxer in kambosos and that's all that matters. If Bob doesn't want him he will go back to Dazn.

NBA players, entertainers, etc all got a tweet out there about Devin from Saturday. And if you have to be a hard-core fan in order to appreciate undisputed, then you're gonna think what you want anyway. Imagine being a casual fan telling boxing fans that something that's only been done 8 times in your sports history don't matter because you, the casual, are no longer talking about it. Weird perspective from a boxing "fan".

If you're not paying for a Haney fight, why are you referencing the Gamboa and Jo Jo fight? You know every little detail about his fights that took place on a paid subscription service, but you ain't paying to watch??? Ok, bro. You're just hating now. You actually sound like you're a nervous Tank fan projecting. You're even bragging on Tank doing business with a fake belt. But a 23 year old young man that's undisputed and doing great independent business for himself gets nitpicked apart by you?? Boxing "fans" today are weird. Straight cheerleaders. Appreciate the science and want to see the best fights.....I swore that's what true boxing fans be on. But clearly, we're in a new age where we're not giving the youngest undisputed champion EVER his props because Jo Jo Diaz sold tickets. Laughable.

We exhausted enough time. I never paid doesn’t mean I haven’t watched his fights. He won Saturday. He’s undisputed and a world-class fighter. He beat the best fighters in his division to become undisputed. He’s a bonafide star. He’s exciting and must see TV. He sells out arenas by his name alone and everyone is clamoring to fight him for a huge payday.

Thee end.

Right.

I don't know about the PPV but close to 50,000 at the gate (according to the news reports) is a pretty good result for lightweight division.

Here’s your boy. He’s tight that after becoming undisputed, Ryan isn’t calling him out but Tank instead.

Told y’all a lot of people just don’t care and want the big, popular, interest drawing fights.

If Loma isn’t available, who else is available at 135?

Who you beat for the belts matter… what’s the difference between Kambosos N Baldomir?? Nobody rates Baldomir as some great W on Floyds resume

Haney wants the big big fights he gotta up that profile…Haney needs to stay off Tubi N hell be jus fine goin Forward… fighting Loma > beating Kambosos… N I think Loma is one of the biggest Hype jobs of the past 10 years

Who you beat matters, but how you beat them can matter too, if Haney would’ve flatlined kambosis his popularity might’ve rose amongst casuals. After the fight I tried explaining to my girl that fight was more important than tanks, she felt like she wasted her time watching it.
