This is where I disagree, two average salaries only work if the lifestyle is willing to match. Otherwise, two equal salaries generally don't work for most women. Most of them want more. They compare to the guys who had more but of course didn't settle with their dumbasses. Women don't think like that in reference to themselves. They just don't. Dora, you might feel that way for others but do you want a 60k dude if you bringing in 60k especially if you don't had better in the past? Women aren't that practical and in a capitalist society, this makes sense.
