cant even go a month without spending money on bullshyt to get outa the paycheck to paycheck life
I'm broke as hell by most standards in america and I still did the same thing. As soon as I got money, I spent it on something. I'm breaking it now that I'm getting more work (self employed) and the feeling of knowing I have even a little bit of money and searching to see what else I can add to the pile is very liberating.

I didn't get out of it until 25. Its really a sickness tbh. The feeling that you have to have things and spend all the money you have each week. I shudder when I speak to people who still have the same mindset. It's a blessing to get paid and you're like whatever about it. Ideally, you're supposed to have at least 12 months of expenses saved up. If nikkas don't even have $1,000, a lot of people are fukked if they get fired.

THISSSSSSS!!!!

I listen to may coworkers say dumb shyt like .."I'm broke, can't buy lunch till tomorrow" :dwillhuh:

I'm gonna put this *insert $300 item here* on layaway:dwillhuh:

I get paid tomorrow... But im :coffee:.. Car note's paid, rent's paid, bills paid, and pantry on fleek.. There's nothing I needed/wanted that I couldn't grab between the last paycheck and tomorrow..

I still abide by that thinking but, it means something different. For most people, they are literally broke until payday. For me, payday is like a cheat day. I might treat myself to something but, the rest of the week I won't eventhough i have the money because subconsciously I know I should be saving instead of splurging. Then on payday, I relax. Kinda like how people eat right for 6 days and then eat a greasy cheesesteak on their cheat day.

nothin wrong with that :yeshrug: money comes, money goes

if i was gonna give advice to anyone, you need to build up a cushion of where you feel comfortable at. maybe its a g, maybe 5, maybe 10. maybe a lot more :jawalrus:. i did that pretty much by not spending money on weekdays, and not spending money on anything that wasnt gonna leave me with a product (clothes, electronics, etc.) i cut down on the bullshyt like dinner out and drinks for a while. if you can discipline that for x amount of months..:ehh: youll be where you wana be

being at the point you're talking about, but having that cushion to fall back on is :ahh:

I've got my vices. I'm a drinker and I smoke tobacco(black n milds) so I automatically figure that into what I make vs what I save. But I'm a simple person, I've been very anti social as of my late 20's. Nothing like coming home from a club, with 50 bucks in your pocket when you left home with 300 in your pocket. Now no matter what it is(outside of my vices) I make sure it's TANGIBLE. To me that is the key, IMO. Like there are people who would say that buying a new TV or an XBox one or PS4 is frivolous(which is cool, they may be right.) BUT to me it's important that one can actually SEE evidence of money spent. IMO of course. But I feel a lot less bad about copping this Xbox than blowing 300 bucks on a strip club. BUT and this is the thing. I don't get indignant at how people spend their money either. I mean if you worked for it, fukk I look like telling you how to spend it. The mere thought of dropping a $150 dollars on sneakers has me like :whoa: But if that's what you are into, that's what you work for so its cool. I just try to save at least 1/4 of every pay check.

I understand that. But if you aren't disciplined enough to keep a thousand in a bank account. Then I'm almost certain you aren't keeping a thousand dollars in cash at home, without that shyt getting rapidly spent.

I keep my whole life savings stuffed in my back pocket, flock it
I'm scraping fronts off like plaque, no slack
I come realistic like Radio Shack
Intact and fat motherfukkers finally get they shyt right
Ain't no fight, they scared shytless, all they do is grab the mic
Ain't no organizing real shyt on the street, it's a fleet
Of revolutionaries in the studio making beats
