I tend to think that everything has to do with slavery. I think that oppression is institutionalized and still very much effects black American culture and psyche in an untold number of ways. I tie most of our disfunction (including this) back to our forced subjugation to white people.

lol they aren't better but I think some of them have been raised/taught how to take care of home more efficiently than some black women.
A lot can be learned from both sides. They can learn how to cook flavorful food from us and we can learn how to organize and color code our cardigans from them.

I don't think ANY man wants a loudmouth broad...regardless of race. You tend to see more black women doing it, but no one wants a broad that's hard to deal with.

this isn't a black woman problem btw. In Africa, Carribean, where the gender roles are still intact, they don't have these mass relationship problems. They also don't have child support, welfare etc .. so a mother leaving the father is at larger risk + no benefit than in america where she has the court system backing her up. In america i'd say this rift between black men and women is social engineering ...guess i'm a conspriacy theorist.
I just think either your a couple that believes in gender roles.. as in the man is the head of the house etc... or your a couple that doesn't. Don't go into the relationship pretending to follow the rules and then switching up, which will obviously resolve in conflict.
btw men ain't attracted to degrees. so all that i'm successful and can't find a man talk is irrelevant.

It's more dynamic than that. He's going to leave his white, pregnant wife and probably lose the presidency because he loves this black woman so much.
Shonda Rimes writes to women's fantasy and some women like to believe that if a married man cheats with you it's because he loves you and can't breathe without you. So it's written as a live story and not as a white man and his concubine.
People like it because it puts the black woman in the position of being desired. He's gonna jump off a cliff for this woman. Meanwhile, his wife and a cold, calculating, power hungry white woman he can't wait to get away from.
It's quite a social commentary and role reversal. A welcomed message (foolish though it may seem) in contrast to the constant, and loud bashing of black women as single and unwanted.

This ain't really got too much to do with slavery because some white women have been asking the same question. Why do their white men flee to Asian women? Those white boys will tell you what a lot of black men who jump their own color line will tell you. They find women of whatever other race they choose to deal with more submissive and easier to deal with. A lot of the things some black men complain about black women, white fellas are complaining about white women. It wasn't black men, but white men that started that whole MGTOW movement. Asian men are having problems too... look up Japan and 'herbivore men'.
A lot of cats for some reason or another find more compliance from women outside their race for one reason or another and that's why a lot of them jump ship. A lot of those nerdy black cats weren't really getting play when they were growing up in high school from black women, who thought they were corny, but moreso from the white women. They just got in where they fit in.

Women do the choosing when it comes to relationships, a woman usually has a variety of black men to choose from, nerds to thugs. Most of the time with black women when they decide to go outside of their race its because they been hurt or feel black man ain't good enough.
As for men, we have to be chosen by women, the chances of a black nerd getting a black woman who appreciates him are slim to none
Lets take for example Carlton Banks (I don't know his real name). He would struggle to get a sista because he seen as a nerd, lacking thug attributes. The brotha had to be forced with who actually likes him.

With Interracial relationships in general, people usually switch up how they treat the person they are involved with. It seems they respect the person more than if they dated someone of their own race and are on their Ps & Qs more.
