Uncertain grounds
The biggest factor was Hillary being terrible and depressing turnout. Pretty sure less people voted this year than in 08 and 12. Trump won over a few reagan democrats but theres always some fence jumping. If more people voted hillary would have won

Honestly it just occurred to me that people are going to draw whatever conclusions they want so it doesn't matter. If you wanna believe that this is the 2nd coming of hitler then go ahead... the truth will reveal itself in time.

Nobody said anything about the "second-coming of Hitler." But the Trump campaign was very clearly driven by race. The lynchpin of his so-called economic platform, and indeed the Republican party's platform for years now, is that there are a bunch of nonwhite people out there who are getting disproportionately favorable treatment from our government and we need to put a stop to it.

If you think it's self-evidently stupid for corporations to pay higher taxes than they're currently paying, then this conversation is a nonstarter. That's not an insult. I'm just being real.
You would rather corporations give their money to the government than invest it back in the economy?:stopitslime:

I'm sorry, but no. The reason Trump won was 'cism. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

It's true that racists would be likely to vote Republican anyway, but Trump got racists out that don't usually vote. The reason I can say this is because there's pretty much no other reason to vote Trump. It's not like people were voting for Trump because of his policy initiatives or political experience. There's no way you're convincing me that his excellent and well thought out trade policy was his main draw. :martin:

And him doing slightly better with minorities than Romney isn't say much considering how abysmal Romney's numbers were.

You should take a break from this subforum like you said. Get out there. Go meet some new people. Broaden your horizons. Try to understand the world beyond your own bubble where the same people reinforce what you believe. And try to actually listen to what people are saying rather than responding with childish, bullying behavior so many liberals engaged in and are still engaging in because someone dared to believe in another message that was not rooted in racism like the media told you to believe. Your post with the same cast of characters dapping it shows you guys truly don't get it and probably won't get it unless you take some drastic measures to step outside of your own bubble. I understand you're in shock, but you're demonstrating complete ignorance, as are some other people, who actually have some sense.

You really need to question the assumptions underlying that question.

Marginal adjustments in tax rates do not have a significant impact on the economy in general. But investment in the education system and infrastructure absolutely do. That takes more tax money.

These cac voters came out and voted in tremendous margins for a candidate who proposed and supported banning Muslims, deporting millions of people, and expanding the police state in New Afrikan communities, amongst other offenses. What that means is that those cacs do not give a fukk about those things actually happening. They value cac lives over everyone else's.

I'm open-minded. Please enlighten me as to what it is I'm not getting. :martin:

I'm still waiting for somebody to tell me what exactly Trump's economic message/policy is that's so inspiring.
