A lot of people say NIL “exposed” Alabama, how much truth do you say there is to that idea?

Good question OP. If people's theory is true, why was Bama able to pay before NIL but other schools weren't able to do so?
Other schools were paying, but you pretty much knew you’d get a world class education in football going to T town and if you were good you’d graduate in 3 years to the league

2025 football recruiting rankings

1 Texas
2 UGA
3 Bama
4 OSU
5 Oregon.

pre NIL and Post NIL they same teams occupy the top of the recruiting rankings. NIL is overblown. The portal is the thing that's made the difference.

Transfer portal is the great equalizer in CFB.

Alabama isn’t able to hoard talent like they did with Saban.

If a kid isn’t seeing the field, they bounce to greener pastures.

Would be interesting to see the percentage of kids that stay all 4 years now vs 10 years ago.

It didn’t expose anything, you have a confluence of things

Nick got to Tuscaloosa and was able to do what many coaches post bear couldn’t do, he told the money sit down relax and cut the checks I’ll have this thing rockin in a few ( some even said he lost that ul Monroe game on purpose to scare the money) well it worked that recruiting cycle came and they had studs. Also noted alum were donating like crazy that’s not a common thing

After a while saban was getting a discount because they were winning, you get your bread and a whip, they were getting so many kids, nikkas were grey shirting to play there (you just enroll at bama and are paying tuition in hope of getting a full scholarship)

Nil came now kids could get paid (the reason he said what he said while mentioning Deion, was to one let his money know get your money up, but also, folks not knowing what kids are getting paid has created chaos, because now you got your second or third string thinking they should get a 100 large cuz allegedly some kid at Kentucky got that)

So now in this new land scape the same teams are still eating, but you many not get as many as you used to because other schools can now throw bread at kids legally (i don’t think folks realize once the illegal part was gone some alum felt more inclined to donate, so they did and some schools found themselves able to compete)

So instead of going in Florida and Texas and scooping up 10 kids they may only get 5-7 those losses add up in talent. Now instead of you having top 100 kids on the bench, they may leave because they aren’t as good and just want to play at a lower level, they chasing bread, or they honestly are just buried on the depth chart so they go where they can have a chance to start.

If you didn’t read all that the short version is more schools can compete to grab kids, and schools (not just bama) can only maintain so much payroll at a time. And it’s more tall tales of nil money so kids be way more ambitious than what’s actually available to pay or what their actually deserving of

Somewhat because you def have some kids moving on killing depth but it’s hella kids dipping never to see the field too

Can y'all show where Penn State an Michigan state are getting more talent than SEC schools?

The talent is going to same schools like it always has. The portal just makes the landscape too unpredictable from year to year.
Depth.

SEC still gets the top croots......that's not going to change.

The difference is you won't have the same depth, so if injuries pop up...academic issues etc, it'll be harder to replace that starter.

It'll be more like the NFL versus some 1990s Nebraska shyt.

It did. Thats why that racist midget fakkit Saban quit. The plantation was over. I hate that inbred. It was so fukked up how he literally had the control of all the top talent. It was monopoly. Once the NIL was cutting them checks, he started looking like he did back at MSU. :dead:

Pretending that bama who had all that money was dog shyt before Saban is foolishness.

The reason they losing is cause they miss saban. Team lacks discipline ect

I think Alvin Kamara was on that roster to at some point..... Saban had like 4 or 5 NFL running backs in a 3 to 5 year period........ 3 or 4 would be pro bowlers and 1 would be a HOF back.... That's the kind of depth Saban had for most of his run......

You aint lying.... That unit Mac Jones had..... :wow: They got Mac Jones first round money..... and he wasn't even like that for real.... All of the receivers he was throwing to mainly are starters in the NFL... That is insane to have that type of talent on one college squad...
