Natural sugar isn't the same as the artificial sugar getting y'all fat. I take my smoothies with apple cider vinegar and pre-worout. If you make a smoothie right, it's really good for you.

Making it right is the key word. Most smoothies yall trying to make are sugar bombs

That's why I get my sugar from fruit and honey. Come on y'all. Your body needs a source of fructose, it's the quality not the sugar itself.

Of course but I miss sugar I'm diabetic now so I really have to monitor my shyt and watch what I eat everyday it sucks...:sadcam: the worse feeling is when i start crashing it feels like a heart attack my body is sensitive to having no sugar in it...:sadcam:

I've quit (added) sugar over a year ago:wow:
It's hard, don't go too crazy. It can be a big change in your diet so you have to ease some things in. Just drinking non sweetened drinks makes a big difference.
It's essential to cook though, else you'll never be able to be in charge of your diet. Mealplan, cook from scratch. The less premade food you eat, the less packages you have to check for all the different names sugar gets called by corporations.

When you feel the difference you'll start looking at people eating loads of sweets like:picard:

I was down but there seems to be a lot of confusion in here about what the mission is lol

I assumed it was about cutting all processed foods, fast foods, and refined sugars while still consuming 2-4 servings of fresh fruit daily. On the lower end of that if you have certain dietary concerns.

Any smoothie I make these days is less than 20 grams of sugar

i've always trained hard and eaten clean 80% of the time... the other 20% would be straight sugar, especially when I'm blazing one... i have always fukked with sugar heavy, definitely an addict

it was never a problem for me because my fitness is good and i stay in good shape for the sports i play

but 3 weeks ago, my tooth cracked and there was a wait for a dentist due to COV-ID... i had to stop eating any kind of sugar because the pain was off the scale if I did

no two ways about it.... the first 3-4 days suck. your body isn't happy to have this sudden drop. i almost felt sick.

BUT... the days and weeks that followed, i feel great. more energy, clearer, sharp, way less inflammation.... less crashes. as your body adapts to breaking down more complex nutrients, instead of having the instant flood of glucose, i feel better and feel as though my body is operating better

also to dude who said you NEED sugar... you don't... your body can get glucose by breaking down other nutrients. there is definitely an adaption to get your body used to it (a few days) but after that, you're golden. it really has given me complete control over what i eat and when because i no longer have the cravings

now my tooth is fixed, i don't even really have the desire to eat sugar... and instead i'll have something containing fats instead when i want a boost

If you do this, you will never go back to old ways.

After not fukking with sugar like that, it will shock your senses to notice just how much sugar is in the stuff that people eat and drink.

Natural sugar in fruit like apples is ok. It’s pretty hard to overdose on apples... but it’s easy to over eat a pack of Oreos, drink Soda, beer, twizzlers , pie, cake... a lot of those things have fructose /high fructose corn syrup which is dangerous... you don’t really get full so it leads to an over consumption of calories

bros I’ve been doing no sugar since January 1st. The first week was tough... I had headaches, never felt satisfied from a meal, always craved gummy bears or twizzlers. But 24 days later, my skin is clearer and lookin more youthful, I have no cravings for snacks. I do have smoothies. Those are fine and I do use honey for my tea and smoothies but nothing else. Best I’ve felt... losing fat too... but it’s probably because I exercise a lot as well

I also had a sensitive tooth. That sensitivity is gone.

It might be easier to just look at it as a pledge to only eat whole/real foods.

I can't remember who I heard said it, but I recall a man saying, "Only eat what your great grandparents would recognize as food".

The simplest foods would be anything that once grew or anything that was killed. Thus, you've got all fruits and veggies and herbs and meat, fish, poultry and game.

You could probably modify this by adding natural spices or sea salt. Sweeteners like maple syrup and honey are natural but a stevia plant might be better as it isn't processed. You could also use dates as a substitute.

Olive oil is a must, I think. Maybe coconut too, though it's more expensive. Vinegar and lemon juice work well for salad dressing.

Smoothies are super easy to make. I have them about 3x weekly. Spinach as a base, plus some parsley and lemon. An apple or orange or some pineapple chunks to break the monotony and a banana will give it that smooth consistency, as will An avocado (but that avocado taste is stronger).

Honestly, for smoothies, besides spinach, parsley and banana, I'll just add whatever fruit I can find on sale that week at the store.

Eating clean/sugar free isn't hard or complicated. It's our habits and emotional attachments to the foods which make the process so difficult. Being a human contains within it both our potential for both success and sabotage lol.

I keep a stash of Welch's fruit snacks and turkey jerky to gnaw on whenever I get angry when I'd honestly be better served by working that aggression out through exercise and not eating. That said, I'm joining the challenge with you @African Peasant .
