Nah.

Here's the thing. Sony can easily push the consumer to prefer DD games over physical discs with the PS4. That's what Xbox fans fail to understand. It's not 1 way or bust here. It's funny, but I can tell a lot of these Xbox stans don't know shyt about PSN or PS3 in general, because Sony has already started doing a lot of stuff digitally with their Store front that MS is getting around to now.

For instance, people are hyping up game sharing on the One as an incentive to why DD games >>> physical games... that is an advantage, but guess what? PS4 will give gamers the same option to download their games day 1 of release as well. Sony could easily paint that picture as two why you may want to download a game instead of having the physical disc for it. (game sharing vs trading in for example) Sony really has the strategic advantage over them right now because they are giving the consumer more OPTIONS. And that's what it boils down to. It'll always be that way.

But I Can Buy A Disc Or DD A Game On XBOX One If I Wanted To, How Is It ONE WAY OR BUST?

They're TRYING To Take A Hard Step Forward To Make DD The More Acceptable Way Of Gaming Without Completely Making It Maditory, I Mean SOMEONE Has To Do It, Its Baby Steps

Yeah Its True They Are Trying To Push You More In One Direction Then The Other, But If All I Wanted To Do Was Ignore DD And Cop Discs For The XBOX One I CAN

Keeping Things The Same Old Ways Is Not A Step In The Direction Toward Progression

If This Method Turns Out To Be A Success The Wheels Of Progression Are Going To Turn And PS Is Just Gonna Follow Suit, Nobody Is Saying PS Doesnt Have Options Either But They Just Choose It Play It A Little Safer

... because on Xbox One all you're going to do with the physical copy is take it home and install the game on your HDD. After that the disc is damn near useless. You can't just trade it in like you can with a PS4 game. They are phasing out buying the physical copy as if there are no pros to them.

On PS4, if you want your games on the HDD and don't want to swap in discs, you can just buy them, but doing that means you can't trade or resell them. MS isn't doing that. MS isn't allowing for the traditional way of reselling and game trading. Sony is doing it the right way.

And Sony can market it as such. MS is advertising game sharing which has been around on PS3.

Are you serious bruh? :russ:

EDIT: I just read that it has to establish a connection evey 24hrs. hahahahhaah. What about if ur internet goes out and the ISP can't send someone out to fix it for 3 days? You're gonna be sitting there with a big black brick box. What about some 13-year old who goes to stay with his grandparents(who dont have internet) for a few weeks in the summer? He can't even take his system with him. hahaahhahahahhahahahahha

This is gonna be a blowout. Gonna be like :deadhorse:

Ppl better order their PS4's early b/c it's gonna be a drought. I might buy 2 and slang one for a profit.

@Rekkapryde we bout to win my nikka :smugfavre:

MS gonna have to fall back on that 24 hour shyt. But again, they are the ones talking about it's an online console...

I said it before, there's gonna be a lot of returns on those shyts

It's funny, we all read the leaks months in advance of the console's actual announcement and there was an overwhelming negative reaction to them. The console is revealed and they get awful feedback from the public.

They release a document detailing all these restrictions that people don't like and get even more criticism.

The price is announced at E3 and it's $100 more than the PS4, even though the hardware is inferior.

Cancel almost every 1-on-1 interview prior to E3 because they KNOW the reaction is going to be terrible.

And yet they they refuse to accept the fact that people don't want this shyt and don't like it. Their delusion and arrogance is truly remarkable.

Its been 3 post now and I'm still waiting for your answer on how xbox is going to drop the price down to 20 dollars?

You say they're trying, the engineer says they want to. So what is stopping them from doing that 6 months from the first day of launch?
i gave you the answer in the original post whats stopping them.

publishers set the price. but they are in cahoots with game stop. if the publishers tell xbox they can sell their game online for 20 bucks. but give it to gamestop for 60. guess where most of us is going? we aint going to game stop. so game stop will cry about it to the publishers. saying hey, thats not fair. if the devs want to do that. then fine, we wont sell your game at all. how's about that. no more in store promo stuff either. well the big giant games can take that hit. the smaller companies cant. they need both that online promo and that in store promo. so they have to bend and give in to gamestop. and since gstop has to make their money back on games. they have to up the price from what it truly should cost to $60.00. so now the devs tell xbox sorry guys you have to slang it for $60.00 just like gstop.

once it goes ALL digital. not PART digital and PART physical. then and only then will gamestop be out of the loop completely. unless they get into the server game and start finding away to be a service via online. distributing digital games vs the physical. if that doesnt happen there will be no 3rd party brick and mortar game seller at that point. and this is when the price will drop.

but thats my point and you still don't see it

Xbox's gameplan behind this shyt was literally the tail wagging the dog. If Sony doesn't go digital, PUBLISHERS WON'T GO DIGITAL. Sony won the consumer war by simply doing nothing. 100% the tortoise and the hare.

Where is the market research that shows that consumers are willing to switch to DRM? Why would a publisher create a DRM only product if nobody is going to buy it....*crickets*

Thats fine if its an OPTION. But once you made it mandatory, the consumer is just going to exercise their power of the purse and not buy your product. And you already lagged against your competition!

How do you not SEE how stupid it is to make it MANDATORY? You're supposed to phase in this kind of change. Capture the market in the opening launch by making them get your system. Then AFTER they already bought your system, and made significant time/monetary investment, introduce some small title DRM games. Then have a totally new blockbuster game, that builds a totally new user base through DRM. Boom 5 year plan. Everybody is on it.

This shyt is stupid.

And the more I think about it, the more obvious it becomes to me that Microsoft said,"Well we won't lose any of our xbox live subscribers. They already have the internet, they won't bat an eye at this."

They probably calculated their total xbox live users and saw how much money on average they have made from their usage. Said, if these users were what we had to live off of for the next generation, plus this new potential population, can we still make a profit? What if we made sure that 100% of the money spent on our product was sent to us? Ran a bunch of analysis. Saw the math worked and said, "We can survive."

And let's trick our users into believing that we are doing this all for them.

Truthfully, none of the new policies bother me. I buy all games new, I don't share games because I only play games my friends buy and I only play online. The xbox sounds like great fit for someone like me but for some reason I'm still hesitant. The only reason I'm on the fence right now is because of my hate for sonys controller.

I love xbox and all but I just feel like MS is being a little to sneaky with this release.
