Nah brehs got it all wrong

we’re not interested in baseball growing up because it’s an expensive ass sport.

Uniforms, bats, gloves, a bunch of equipment, all the traveling, etc

now basketball and football does traveling too but the demand for equipment yearly isn’t as aggressive

This is the actual reason. Baseball is not a cheap sport. Throw in travel ball, equipment, specialized training for high school, etc and this is not a broke boi sport. Golf has the same issue.

I don’t buy this argument

single female headed households are rampant in the Caribbean and Latin America too

There are MLB youth baseball academies in the Caribbean that do not compete with the AAU-HS-NCAA-G League-NBA or Midget Football-JHS-HS-NCAA-NFL feeder pipelines.

United States baseball is based on the father-son love-of-the-game inheritance model.

Idk. With the money they're hitting these young kids with and you can avoid CTE lol, shyt should become way more attractive in the near future. I would never put my kids in football. fukk that
I agree with you but I don’t know if things are really trending that way.

The competition is entirely different too. NFL only drafts from North America basically. MLB has North America, and DR, PR, Cuba, Venezuela. And I’m not saying American kids aren’t hungry for the success. But some of these kids grow up playing ball in chancletas and still make to the MLB. Really desolate situations.

Who can really tell though right?

I was about to come in and post this!

Also Baseball can be a long, sometimes boring sport. It doesn't appeal to people with low attention spans. If you weren't raised around the sport and the culture it won't be as appealing as other more exciting sports.

Remember that the past few generations have been raised immersed in feminine impatience.

Few have inherited the deliberative approach that our forefathers from North Carolina and Alabama possessed. Those men were baseball men.

I remember when the Mets had this rookie named Lastings Milledge. People got on him for high-fiving fans when he took to the field the next inning after hitting a HR. He even tried to put out an album....they got him the fukk outta town for trying to show some personality

I feel a point people are missing in these arguments is that sports in general are increasingly becoming something for only rich kids to participate in

sure the extremely talented kids will be found, but the kids who are "works in progress" better have parents with resources to further develop them...if not, time to pick up a trade

sports programs are going the way of art programs in a lot of public schools

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Baseball is really just an acquired taste. I don’t care how many baseball fields you build in inner cities. Baseball is a game fundamentally rife with little intricacies unique only to baseball; but, those things in themself are not as titillating or as exciting as other sports can be, regularly. Consequently, you have to have an appreciation of those intricacies to get the most enjoyment out of the sport, which leads back to it being an acquired taste.

If we're being honest, brehs aren't interested because baseball is ridiculously boring.

I don't know if I've ever sat thru an entire baseball game in my life :pachaha:

It is ridiculously boring, but that is because African American players don't play the game anymore. When African Americans played the game it was not boring at all. There was speed all over the field. A bunch of stolen bases. A bunch of inside the park homeruns. A bunch of incredibly athletic defensive plays and the games could be played in 2 hours.
