I just don't get it.....Maybe its because I hang with black people all the damn time that embraces who they are, but I don't see how any black man & woman can be ashamed of being labeled "Black". That's what I identify myself as and I'm not gonna distance myself away from it like these c00ns. Being black is a very unique thing and I wouldn't give it up for the world. Disowning your blackness is just as crippling as dealing with these racist cacs.

It don't matter if your light skin or dark skin, rich or poor, dumb or intelligent, a doctor or a career criminal.....We all the same.[/QUOTE]

Then you do actually agree with what he's stating.

question.

when the cops ID a suspect in an all white neighborhood, the suspect is white, do they use white? or just his physical description?

do we use european american?

when talking about white statistics, do we use americans, or white american?

with that being said, is this because of the lack of pride white people have?
When the cops pull over a Caucasian American...

They say... Suspect is a White male , age 31.... Suspect is armed and dangerous.... Witness on the scene claims she heard yelling for 30 mins. We've found a dead women at the scene , Black , Female , early 20's. Possible suspects girlfriend.

Also,
When I chop it up with demons who are associates.. (not friends).. They are always like I'm European, I'm German, Italian... Blah blah... variations of CAC.

If we were all immigrants here I'm sure we'd do the same.:ehh: Especially if we weren't 8th class citizens. But Most of our people didn't get here on the Deck of ship... we were at the bottom chained.....:upsetfavre:

do to our lack of connection .... and MOST of us not knowing exactly where in Africa we are from We aren't saying I'm ... blah blah nation.
We unite under a shared experience - and rightfully so. IT's not like saying African would be better --- as that word has CAC origin as well. :usure:

Some 1st and 2nd generation Africans claim a nation before claiming black.
- and that's their right with their DIFFERENT experience.

I'm fully aware of My Everything.. right down to tribe......... but I'm not about that division life. I don't even mention my roots to my nikkas. I'm black and I live here. my people were also born here. So I'm black and due this being the language most of us speak... I'm black and proud. :sas2:

I guess cops were a bad example because yes they do have to use race, whereas in most parts of europe they dont. as for cacs using german, irish blah blah, let me tell you right now, europeans clown the fukk out of them for that. its just a bunch of fools trying to sound exotic, like blacks saying part native (which whites do too). but note, theyre using a country, not white.

if you go anywhere, its american. when you read about 5 out of 10 americans blah blah, usually, it means white. because if its black, they say it. how many commercials, surveys do you read, where its 1 out of 5 whites blah blah. NEVER. so again, is that because of the lack of pride?

I do see your point. But In a world were you're a member of the dominate society- You don't have to acknowledge the obvious.

I do see what ur saying... but Asians aren't called Yellow --- because Indians and Mid eAst people including black people live in asia. So they say Chinese, etc......... AND MAINLY because of the Japanese.... everyone hates them because of history so a Thai person Def doesn't wanna be called a Jap.

Those places weren't colonized to the degree of Africa is the point. Even those nations Borders in Africa were designed by CACs.

This is why White supremacy > racism..

If racism is all we had to deal with ... We'd be on top of the world right now. Most can't identify with certain nations... so black americans and europeans usually are called black.

What would you call a random nikka in Dallas who doesn't even know his granddad?? What can he be proud to identify with ? being black and the collective black american history and some african history is what he can identify with.

But if HE is NOT Part of mainstream society and will never be accepted --- why would he wanna say... I'm a man. We live on EArth. you are either part of a nation, race, or ethnicity whether u ach it or not.
\\

Just like how you Go Hard at black Muslims... and sometimes East Africans.... you say I'm west african... not I'm a man, I'm not West African (a CAC created term)

I'm clearly not stupid, nor am I trying to argue. And where does right or wrong come into play? These are perspectives, not equations.

Should I condense it for you to make it easier to respond to?

- Did you or did you not determine that Ab-soul was trying to cater to a particular group of people with his statement, without proper context?

It's a yes or no question, and I mean...you did. I'm just asking so that you can backtrack and see for yourself how you painted this picture from your own head and slapped it on to his face rather than just chalk it up to "you're stupid, and wrong". This shyt has nothing to do with him being unaware of how society see's him, it's about how he sees himself and how he chooses to live his life as a spiritualist. His content, his interviews and even his actions when dealing with the so called brainwashers revolve around spiritual awareness as opposed to social conditioning.

You said all this to say what? What you are / are not and what you wish to be referred as is two totally different things.

I have no problem with what he wishes to be called, but he IS a black man and there's no getting around that. He can not definitively say that he isn't, which is exactly what he did

@RebelX

His newer tweets make him sound like dumb as hell. Black or dark having negative connotations doesn't stim from English or the anything to do with it. It comes from man's primal fear of darkness / black of night dating back to prehistoric man falling prey to animals at night.

The word Black originates from dark. Throughout man's history dark / darkness of night, absence of light, ect... has always been associated with negative or evil and that's when a majority of fukked up shyt like crimes, satanic shyt, sexual deviant activity, etc... Occurs even to this day

Youre putting words in his mouth. He said hes a man, which he is, and you right away attribute that to him being ashamed to be black despite this particular artist being VERY well known for his problack lyrics. So no, thats not what he meant at all. All he was saying is, he is a MAN before all. which is absolutely true.

Gotta agree my African-Far East Asian brotha. :myman:

I don't think dude is denouncing his blackness. But to label it like that, "black man" can come off as separating. And not the BLACK part, but any adjective. It separates the individual or group from the rest of humanity. :yeshrug:

If a sprinter has one leg, we call him a one-legged sprinter to show he is different from all other sprinters. So we know not to expect the same time as a "normal" sprinter. I'll never forget in HS I was offered an award for "highest SAT score... among African Americans." The fukk? Like we were separate from the rest of the class. :stopitslime:

It's the same with black QB's who don't wanna be called black QB's. Why the separation? It's like lowering expectations off the bat. Like saying "white RB." We don't expect the same production from a RB who is white so we make that distinction adjectively. :heh:

So again, it's not about the word BLACK being before man that raises an issue, it's about ANY WORD being before man because that separates you from the rest of men by making everyday achievements somehow special because they exceed prejudice expectations.

Personally, I love being black. Wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe it's one of those "what you know is what you love" kinda deals like growing up in the hood. I'm sure I'd love myself regardless, but damn I love being black. We got the dopest style, our own lingo, more swag in one kink of hair than entire continents as a whole. I have never had an issue with being black. But I am a man above all. So don't be surprised when I handle my business like all men are supposed to... "even though" I'm black.

I think your going overboard by calling what he said dumb.

What he is saying is that technically none of us fit any of the characteristics given to the adjective "black" in the English dictionary. Technically none of us are dark enough to be the color "black" and hopefully none of us fit the other negative descriptions given to the word black in the English dictionary (Grim, wicked, dirty etc.)

In my opinion its trivial but a lot of people share this idea that "words have power" and say overstand instead of understand and don't refer to themselves as black.
