I think the whole, superstar driven league, is code word.

...what the fukk is a "superstar" call?

that shyt should be even throughout, yet we've grown accustomed to it, and we except it like shyt aint rigged...

I've seen it too many times where refs are controlling the flow of the game...and it goes different based on how they call it... it shouldn't be like that..
Ain't you a Bulls fan... :leostare:

lakers acompete tics were dominatg when there were less teams

Maybe because there were less bigger markets back then to compete against.

Cities like Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Phoenix weren't the big markets back then as they are now.

Half of these NBA cities really can't even afford a NBA franchise.

I've always felt a city shouldn't have a team if they can't truly afford a team.

The problem is there is no rule that says you can't hit Brady or Rodgers or Brees...matter fact all of these dudes in their career have played behind some terrible lines that got them hurt...

Unlike in the nba where say a superstar player like 5678 can drive to the rim 10 times and shoot freethrows on 6 of them...

If you sack an NFL QB regardless of who he is 10 times are you getting 6 of them taken away for some random reason?

Manning has always been a media darling and dude spent all year getting smashed to pieces...

That game against kansas city early in the year when Charles fumbled the ball...manning was getting drilled and damn near every pass attempt...

You missed this sack that was taken away and literally decided the game

I mean it's not like he's lying.

One player has a much bigger impact in basketball than in any other sport. You can get a hard cap & non-guaranteed contracts and the result will be the same. The teams with the LeBrons, Currys and Durants of the world will be at the top. Nature of the game.

There's a reason why there's only one team in the last 25 years who won a title that didn't have a current, former or future MVP in their starting lineup

3 in the last 30 years. And all of them are from the same team.

Same could be said with DPOY players. It's either a team with former/current/future DPOY/MVP players have won a championship/

The only thing that stops the NBA from being more competitive is greed.

From the bottom to the top, the league will be so much better with just 22 to 24 teams.

league would be damn near insane with 22-24 teams :wow:

you lose the casuals though because their city won't have a team, but you probably make the 22 cities with teams have rabid fanbases. Can't imagine how loaded rosters would be in a 22 team league

Would be so great for the product but terrible for the leagues image.

Just by the nature of the sports the NBA will and SHOULD never have any type of NFL like parity. One basketball player has so much more impact than even a quarterback in football, he'll your third star probably can impact a game more on his own than the QB can in football. It's too team oriented.

if the nba got rid of max salaries and had a hard cap you'd see more parity

if they really wanted parity they'd do this

they know that some stupid gm would give lebron 80 mil a year out of a 100 mil hardcap so they have to protect these guys from themselves

I'm a fan of getting rid of max contracts. You shouldn't be able to get LeBron at the same price as Chris Bosh

But I don't think a hard cap will do anything but punish teams who draft good. Regardless the teams with the elite players will still be at the top

How many teams actually draft that well though? Aside from teams who miss the playoffs year after year so they keep getting top picks.

Hard cap would be

Lebron+ 60 mil worth of role players

vs

paul George + 80 mil worth of role players

I think that's a much more competitive setup than what we have now.

Lebron and durant shouldn't have better teammates than paul George. Nba rosters should look like a snake draft if you want parity.

The nhl and mlb have much greater parity then the nba and they aren't a knockout playoff system.

One goal or run can win a game. The most important player in baseball changes every game and even during the game. The best hitter gets just as many ABs as the worst. A hot goalie can carry a squad. You have more moving parts, variance, and happenstance than basketball despite playing series.

It is what it is. If you want average teams getting a chance at the title and sometimes breaking through due to unfair rules or a well timed hot streak (which most people mistake for parity) then the NBA aint the league for you :yeshrug:.
