We weren't bytch made at all. It's widely regarded and accepted by historians that even without guns, if the West African kingdoms were united like they were only a hundred or so years before the mass enslavement, there would be no chance for the slavers.

Not to mention we didn't all go to the new world, my ancestors got lucky and fought to the last man every time with guns untill the 1900's when they finally took a historic L when the British did the first ever air raid. This is how ive always thought of it:

Africa as a whole has never had solidarity. Prior to white folks coming over Africans were fighting amongst each other, and enslaving each other. So the idea of selling the enemy to someone else wasnt that foreign.

The climate of Africa also creates a personality where ruthlessness isnt necessarily needed. Its always warm, and there are plenty of natural resources (this has been true for people in warm climates all over...they tend to be a little too relaxed). People of colder climates always had to hustle and worry about food & shelter...it makes for a personality that is ready for whatever.


To expect the average person to step out from the crowd is asking a lot. People just arent like that.
