You must be unaware that during parts of the migration a lot of Black Southerners were forced to stay in the South as many were met with racial violence if they tried to leave state lines from White Southerners who needed someone to take up cheap labor so many had no choice but to stay or be killed.

Many families migrated because despite loving their countries/cities/towns they have to do what’s best for their children and they know there is better opportunity elsewhere. Some are leaving because they live in a war zone and are at risk of losing their lives in addition to possibly already losing loved ones and their homes.
