We have other issues that's bigger than college. We can't even get passed Highschool, let alone college. If we do make it to college a lot of us are getting terrible degrees which mean slow paid jobs.
Right. Go into severe debt at some expensive ass college that you bearly qualified for on academic merit just to get a worthless sociology degree.

hbcus would actually benefit from it. more black kids, especially athletes, should be going to HBCUs.

but college, specifically in the united states, is a scam. black college graduates have less of a chance of landing the same job as a cac with a highschool diploma.

HBCUs don't prepare you for the real world though do they? You'll be surrounded by whites, Indians, and Asians once you graduate.

It's not just elite private colleges. Most colleges and universities in the US, use race as part of the admission criteria. And the ones that don't, are actually heavily asian. The university of California system for example doesn't use race, and they're all heavily asian.

I said the places were this is an "issue", there are no asians protesting because they didn't get into University of Wilmington. Point is the colleges have agency in terms of the criteria they use. Remove race and it's still other criteria they will use to get black students in. In the article they mention shyt like politics views and "background". The asians are trying force the system to be like their home countries, based entirely off test scores, but it's not happening here.

Another thing is a worst case scenario here strengthens HBCUs, hopefully it doesn't come to that but that's a potential side effect

you could say that about college in general. only the kids that intern and coop have a rudimentary understanding of the real world. the rest are going in thinking its all gucci and end up on onlyfans or starbucks.

also, keep in mind that there are other ethnicities at HBCUs, too. the majority just happens to be black

I don't think there are really any criteria that they could use that would specifically apply to black students. Those examples were criteria they currently use. Stuff like political views, income, etc.. would still probably benefit whites far more than blacks.

And I get the HBCU angle, but the truth of the matter is that there are so many opportunities and careers paths that will just straight not be accessible to you (or at the very least extremely difficult to get) if you didn't go to an Ivy League or an Ivy equivalent school.

Benefits rich white males more than anything with butter biscuits for Asians who got their 400 sat score and a hug from the white man.

They get the whites all to themselves.

It's interesting because at their income level they have access to test pretp resources and AP classes that aren't always available in black and Latino schools or to the Income of their families.

shyt on the many so a couple more Asians can go to Harvard.

The biggest beneficiary of Affirmative Action?

White women.

Not sure it'll affect us nearly as much as people think. It may push some white women out and more Asians into school. Legacy admissions is a much bigger problem at the elite schools but no one talks about that.

Basically, rich white boys are swapping out white coeds for Asian coeds at school.
And what do you think will happens when affirmative action is gone. Affirmative action is not only just for colleges but also for jobs and business grants as well such stupidity

Most of those judges on the the supreme court went to Harvard, Yale, etc. These people do not want their alma maters looking like UC Berkely or UCLA. The donors that put those justices on the supreme court will not accept Harvard turning 70% asian.:mindblown:

THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT IT.

The Supreme Court will say Harvard is a private college and they can factor in whatever criteria they want: race, legacy, etc.

Y'all trippin if you think rich white people are going to let asians overrun their ivy league schools:hhh:
