I dont give a fck what that article says breh, the majority of our women do not bleach period, the majority of my friends/family/acquaintances back home do not bleach and im sure the majority of yours don't either. I just got of the phone with my moms, we were laughing hard as sht, this is bullsht sensationalism at its finest. These folk are really trying to say 8/10 of our women bleach lol, what a fcking joke.
In fact, @Don Drogo, @awkwardblackgirl how many Naijan sisters do yall know that bleach their skin?
True, but damn near every black nation harbors groups that bleach their skin or use some sort of chemical so they can adhere to European standards, im not trying to deny it or say its ok, my only issue is yall running with that 8/10 statistic and saying bleaching is a massive problem in Nigeria, it isnt.
Exactly, sht is sad.
Personally.... one cousin I suspect. she lives out in the bay. this bleaching thing is a problem, but its not a major problem like these reports would have you believe
the comments in this thread have me
though, talk about baseless generalizations

. My girlfriend is Nigerian too so her remarks made me wonder where this shyt stems from and why she is conditioned to feel that way. In my first post i mentioned friends growing up making fun of my skin tone and my coworkers comments about Asia and I live in canada. My craetion of this thread wasnt directed towards africa alone...but the problem amongst darker ppl (brown, black whatever) in general.

..... can't be true........
