After watching 5 mins of soccer at the gym I see why it'll never pop in America

Not true. Soccer takes a different skill set and I played it as well as other sports. Many of the best players can multiple sports well.
pro soccer players couldn't make it in the nfl, nba, mlb, and nhl....but pros in the other sports could make it in any soccer league :manny:

it won't pop because it takes focus for 90 minutes and if you get up to get a beer or some shyt, chances are you can miss the only action of the whole goddam game :pachaha:

same with cricket

Y’all kill me with this tie shyt or hating low scores. If football didn’t randomly make a touchdown 6 points, add an extra 1-2 point to it in the form of a extra point kick or two point conversion, and create a participation trophy way to score in the field goal, y’all nikkas would be watching 120 mins of commercials and 20 mins of the ball in movement for 2-3 scores as well :dead:
in real football there's high-impact collisions on every play, that faggy soccer shyt is dudes crying and limping, european tea-sippers flopping around on the turf :wrist:

The sport is getting popular as fukk in America
And folks don’t want to admit it. Here in DC, the bars were packed for the UCL final a couple weeks ago. Bars were at capacity and at least 50 people were outside of one bar I went standing outside to watch it. They had to turn people away to go to another bat and then they had to turn people away from THAT bar. I have a friend in Dallas and he said it was the same down there as well.

Soccer requires incredible footwork. most European hockey players first sport is soccer and that's why they're great skaters. Andrew Luck grew up in Germany and he first played soccer which he credits for his great footwork. You really think an NFL player could make it in soccer.

I'm not saying that it doesn't....but so do skilled positions in other pro sports.... for example...I think it'd be easier to turn a RB/CB/SS/WR into a soccer player than to turn a soccer player into a pro football player...furthermore pro football players can demonstrate their skill with a measurable outcome in yards gained, and TDs scored....soccer players really can't...scoring 1 out of 15 attempts every 3 games isn't evidence of any skill imo...which essentially just makes them skilled foot shakers. All that incredible footwork doesn't translate into anything worthwhile. Hence why you see people running around for 3 hours in a 1-0 score.

in all honesty...i don't think Americans really talk down about soccer becomes there's a sensative cultural/political component to it...but if soccer was forced to be judged on its merit....it would get clowned alot more.

The entertainment value of it would plummet if they got rid of those things though...

Most major metropolitan areas have a heavy tourist/immigrant populations these days...the same happens in nyc (union square, tribeca, Soho etc) during the world cup....most of the people in those bars are from other countries and/or are other whites who consider themselves "worldly"....once you leave major urban big cities and enclaves, the popularity plummets and no one watches or cares.

Except these weren't just tourist immigrants here. In fact, most of them weren't. Most where blacks and regular azz white americans along with immigrants. when you leave major urban big cities, the popular plummets for most things.
