Do you not think maybe your perspective is skewed by the fact that you never actually grew up watching/playing soccer? Your frame of reference will always affect your emotional response to an event, and there's nothing universal about it. Kids who start watching soccer because of Pulisic et al. will feel the same way about Messi's run as you feel about Blake's dunk. I'll show you another example of something that won't look hard to you, but will to anyone who ever played this sport.

that soccer is boring as hell and honestly is generally the most popular sport in the world because it is cheap (space and a line in the sand. Also doesn’t require you to be an athletic genetic anomaly…I can most definitely see where op is coming from.

I don’t care for soccer. But your post is disingenuous. football is flat out the most boring sport I’ve ever watched followed by baseball. The only World Cup game I watched was Argentina vs Brazil about 10yrs ago. It was 10000x more exciting than anything I’ve seen from football and baseball. Not even close

I’m a football fan and this is pretty true especially if u are a NFL fan

this thread is dumb the only reason U feel that way is cuz the best athletes in America play football and basketball, Ronaldo has acrobatic goals that if u ever even googled a highlight reel 99% of SOCCER players will tell u that they couldn’t do let alone your average joe

Played soccer growing up and was damn good at it. Did what that nikka in that youtube video did plenty of times and nothing about it looked hard ever. Just running and dribbling past folks. It took skill but still looked
