After watching 5 mins of soccer at the gym I see why it'll never pop in America

most persons outside of America find American football boring as well.
Not true breh. I put nikkas onto football in Colombia and was having viewing parties every Sunday. Once you understand the game, the strategy of football is very interesting to soccer fans.

Really makes me scratch my head as to why international brehs hate on it so much. Like maybe they never even gave it a chance.

EDIT: I will admit they fukking hate the commercial breaks tho.

The strategy of football and soccer are very similar

soccer is like basketball and football combined imo

Aren't you the one who said it would be easy to turn a football player into a pro soccer player?
nope. I didn't say it was "easy" nor did I say they would be the best...what I do think is that if the skilled pro players of the major sports placed all of their years and efforts into soccer...they would be pros....I don't think we could say the same with soccer players...it's all opinions...but I don't see them being able to....they wouldn't get into a d1 program, or make a pro roster. and for the sake of argument i'm not talking about NFL linemen, QBs or NBA centers...or MLB pitchers...I'm refering to WRs/SS/CB/WRs...PGs or short stops...people who are size height/weight proportionate to soccer players.

And folks don’t want to admit it. Here in DC, the bars were packed for the UCL final a couple weeks ago. Bars were at capacity and at least 50 people were outside of one bar I went standing outside to watch it. They had to turn people away to go to another bat and then they had to turn people away from THAT bar. I have a friend in Dallas and he said it was the same down there as well.
That part. I live on H st and heard crazy cheering at 7/8/9 am on a Saturday morning all from soccer fans packing the bar across the street. People are watching
The entertainment value of it would plummet if they got rid of those things though...
thats the point of my post. NFL is literally the same shyt except they decided to randomly up the points of a goal and now nikkas act like they’re watching people score more than soccer. No, you’re not...well maybe these days since defense in the NFL is all but outlawed

If Cristiano Ronaldo grew up in America he’d be a star WR

this argument about soccer being “boring” jus comes down to soccer not being an American sport, if it was then we’d have athletes like AI, Westbrook, Antonio Brown, Tyreek Hill bein soccer athletes
He would be a freak athlete but I don't know if he got the hands to be a WR. With his movement, he would make for an interesting safety prospect.

How is this a complaint when the last 5 minutes of a an nfl or nba game can be 5-20 mins depending on time ours, running out of bounds, fouls and other clock stopping bullshyt
I don't mean actual watch time....I mean in game time. Extra time seems stupid, like it's just a guess how much time should be left. Why have extra time when they could just stop the clock instead of accruing time to add on extra at the end of the 90 minutes? When the clock hits zero, the match should be over....or in this case when the clock hits 90.

very true...again that knot in your stomach is your pride talking
Breh, Steve Nash - soccer
Embiid - Soccer
Giannis - Soccer
Hakeem - soccer
Luka - soccer
Ochocinco - Soccer
Siakam - soccer
Christian Okoye - soccer
Ben Simmons - Rugby
So many athletes played soccer or even Rugby as their #1 sport played professional in other sports.

refer to post #154 then edit.

Yes, Shaq, Lebron, TIm DUncan etc probably could not play pro soccer...the physics and bio mechanics would make it impossible.....AI, Kyrie, curry, etc I don't have any doubts.

You have to experience soccer in person to really gain an appreciation of what you see on TV. I have been going to MLS games the past couple of years, and when the stadium is packed there is nothing like a soccer crowd. The whole environment is awesome, and MLS is really just a fraction of the intensity you’d get with international clubs & national teams.

There’s a delayed gratification in a soccer match that’s really only experienced comparably with hockey in North America in terms of ball movement, speed, and pace. Baseball sometimes in terms of scoring but it’s a different game altogether. I love low scoring, chippy games with defense. It’s the way the game is supposed to be play. But I enjoy defense all across all sports. When your in the 70 and 80+ minutes in time and it’s still 0-0 every advance past midfield or corner is like a heart attack or celebration waiting to happen. I live for that kind of tension in sports.
