Avery, Jae, and Isaiah are good starting-type players. Thomas gets the numbers he does because someone on that team has to score. If he or Jae are your best players, 1st round exits are your ceiling, even in the weak-ass East. It's similar to the Sixers when they had Iggy, Jrue, Thad, and Elton Brand. Their ceiling was 1st round exit too. All of those guys are good or very good players; they're just not stars.
Jaylen Brown has the size and measureables of a star. But nothing about his actual game says star. He can fix his jumper, but probably not his decision-making. He could be Kawhi Leonard, but so many things have to go right including his supporting cast.

They are good players, not great and he only drafted one of them.

Yeah, this is what I don't get. Do the Celts value Marcus Smart's upside over Dunn's? I mean, is it an issue where they don't wanna look stupid for having taken Smart by basically drafting his replacement? For example, why not just take Dunn at #3, then shop Smart (with others, if necessary) for a quality trade?

That's what I didn't get and I like Smart but at that moment he needed to take the best prospect regardless of position. Brown might turn into a really good player but it's going to be a while and it's already been a few years into the Stevens era. It's time to make a fukking move.
