Airlines are lobbying for a change to federal regulations that could put one pilot in the cockpit

False

I know someone in pilot school and he told me the only thing pilots have to focus on is taking off and landing. Once they’re cruising, it’s all about communication.
So big jets that are sophisticated to the hilt don’t have autopilot? They dont have the autoland feature? Again aircraft can take off and land on their own.. it’s not different that Tesla self driving feature..

When airlines received money during Covid, one stipulation of receiving federal funds was to not layoff employees. Instead, airlines gave a lot of employees a package to retire early. Overall, I'm really starting to question if this worker shortage is intentional.
It always has been. But when I pointed it out two years ago, corporate bootlicking ass negroes on here said I didn’t know what I was talking about.

Nah. Not buying this. If the single pilot on the plane has a seizure i garuntee you that plane will be landing itself straight into a mountainside.

takes too long to train new people and the airlines fired, furloughed, or retired most of their pilots during covid. Flight school is 3.5 years and it takes an extra 2 years for them to get their required flight hours, even after school. Its no better for military kats who gotta give 6+ years in a contract also.

So it will be 2026 by the time they make up for the pilots they list from covid in 2021

Wait until they feel like a.i. can fly a plane alone and you happen to walk into the cockpit and see this

Even helicopters and planes designed as one-pilot minimum aircraft usually use two for redundancy's sake. :unimpressed:

Automated features aren't perfect and only work if everything is going to plan: that shyt won't execute auto go-arounds or work in all weather/emergency situations, etc.

The PF could have a stroke, heart attack, suffer from spatial d, etc. and if you're only seating one pilot instead of two with no flight engineer, then you have no trained aircrew members for that airframe if something happens. :francis:

I see half you nikkas are morons.. autopilot and autonomy are major components for modern aircraft.. I was just making the correlation to Tesla but I can use a better example like GM super cruise feature…
