Finding Forever by Common. Super disappointing follow up to Be. The thing that made it worse was that an incomplete version of the album leaked early and I remember listening to it. That shyt made it even worse, I wish I hadn't peeped the leak. The final version had some improvements but my ears had already been poisoned.

Def Jam fukked up by not making Rich Forever the album. shyt is a classic and Ross best work imo.
I think that too but maybe Ross wouldn’t have had the momentum he did coming off Rich Forever had he not dropped that as a mixtape

I agree

I also think Electric Circus had so much potential to be so much more.

nikka the opposite of H2O is O2H!!!!

Not Fire! It’s fukking hydrogen peroxide!!!!
hahaha. I don't know why that album took so long to be released here in Amerika. I bought that in Germany a month before it was released here in the states. And I agree, it wasn't good

Eminem- Recovery

This was the album where Eminem dropped the accents, connected with some of the best producers in the game which included Just Blaze, Boi-1da, and Dr. Dre. What we got was a bunch of redemption songs, screaming, forced punchlines, and power Pop anthems.

Rick Ross- GFID

This was supposed to take Ross to the next level. Too bad the mixtape was better. This was a good album, but all the singles were bad. Imagine if "Stay Schemin" was the single and it was followed up with "Rich Forever". Instead we got two flopped singles that got his album pushed back into 2012 instead of the 4th quarter 2011 date initially had.

Drake- Thank Me Later

Multiple super producers helmed his debut resulting in a safe album where the sound from So Far Gone was lost in the mix.
He spoke about it in his book, I think Rich Forever mixtape was supposed to be his album but something happened. And people laugh at me, but Drake was about to be a one and done when TML dropped.

The Neptunes influence >
Pharrell being a good rapper >
His style influence >
The falsetto singing <
This should have been a classic on the level of a Kanye or Dr. Dre but for some reason was just aight at the most.

The Neptunes Presents... The Clones is the same. We got "Frontin" and a handful of others out of that album, but aside from "Frontin", nothing else from that album was on that level. This was dropped at the peak of The Neptunes fame with an all star cast of features and it was light overall.

Few other albums:

Cam'Ron - Purple Haze: Was supposed to be released in 2003, but Roc drama pushed it a year back. Was also highly anticipated.
Timbaland - Shock Value: Was supposed to the culmination of the Timbaland 2006 run.
Every Kanye release after Yeezus

100% on this one. They had the album run up until this with the Groups and it built up a lot of hype for the WHOLE BCC to drop an album like the Wu.... It fell way short and as you said that basically was it, a wrap after that especially as a group.
Facts this the one ..trash as hell i was so tight

Kuruption!

Kurupt was one of my favorite rappers and I was expected some Dogg food level shyt. I haven't revisited it in a long time.

The Doggfather I've listened to once ever. Murder trial drained snoop and his flow was so lazy

Infamy...infamous, hell on earth are both two of my all time favorite albums. Murda Muzik has bangers...Hnic is classic to me. Infamy just came and went.

I feel you on Doggfather and Infamy

but Kuruption! might be my favorite "dissapointing" album ever

imo it has 2 of the GOAT west coast tracks..."C-Walk" and "We Can Freak It"

its just that the album was inconsistent as hell

prosper any where on earth
Az Doe or Die 2 (we waited for nothing)

Big Pun yeaaah baby (that shyt was mid)

Best of both worlds 2 ( what a fukk up)

Nas Streets Disciple (besides war and the c00n picnic track, nothing exciting)

Eminem Encore/Relapse/Recovery ( you can tell 50 made him decline/ weak come back album / Only Wanye & rihianna songs made it interesting

Jada first album/ top 5 dead or alive too.. I think his 2nd album is a 3.5/5 but it ain't the best!

Timbaland - Shock Value: Was supposed to the culmination of the Timbaland 2006 run.

While had mega hits, this could've really been a classic. He packed it with artists people didn't care to hear over a Timbaland beat, which I'm sure was supposed to be the "shock" element. All he really had to do though is take back seat on the vocals and just stay behind the boards and let the music work magic.

He wasted a Dr. Dre feature on "Bounce". Remove Dre and throw Busta on that beat and replace Justin Timberlake with Ludacris on the hook and you have a monster of a song.

"Kill Yourself" is another waste. Now if you put Dr. Dre on this track with Kanye West (the hook borrows line from Kanye's "Bring Me Down"), that's another banger.

"Scream" could've been the first and only Beyonce/Rihanna collabo.

"Throw It On Me" could've used a Black Thought verse.

"Time" could've used Nelly. Nelly, the rapper, not Furtado.

The song below should've been the intro featuring Eminem and Twista:
