Alchemist not in my top 5 producers but he has some dope shyt.
Alc and Madlib are probably my two favorite producers, but objectively I think Just Blaze is the most talented to do it out of that group that started in the late 90's.
Ok, so, make a better beat :imsorrytohearthat:Dude is a LOOPER..
Every time I hear the original of the best Alchemist beats, I am like...Anybody could have made that beat...
You get not credit for finding a rare sample...In fact, Samplers who look for rare samples do so, because they want to loop and get credit, knowing fully well that they didn't do sh@t...![]()
His best beats are Loops...When we are talking about GOAT status, we are looking at the best body of work...He gave Roc Marciano some good beats, and they all turned out to be loops...A lot of his early beats are loops but since Covert Coup he's been chopping the fukk outta samples..He can do both. And finding rare samples is half the battle
Pointless argument...Dude just loops, and so, it comes down to who finds the loop first...Ok, so, make a better beat :imsorrytohearthat:
He just loops so it shouldn't be hard right?Pointless argument...Dude just loops, and so, it comes down to who finds the loop first...

It is not hard...That is not the argument...He just loops so it shouldn't be hard right?
You got this big dog![]()
I do. I think the fact that he became mostly inactive after the Saigon project situation happened in the mid 00's does make a difference on how I see things. I mean after '06 or so, he's very inactive, with maybe a few beats a year, and the past half decade or so he's done what, a 2 or 3 beats a year, tops?I agree, do you feel like his smaller body of work (in comparison to those two producers and others) holds him back as far his legacy is concerned? Because doesn't really have Alchemist's work ethic, nor does have a classic project like 'Lib does with Madvillainy and Pinata, and I doubt that Jay Elec. album is coming out.

i agree with this in the sense that Just is probably more technically gifted and more knowledgeable on the engineering/mixing/musical theory aspect of it.Alc and Madlib are probably my two favorite producers, but objectively I think Just Blaze is the most talented to do it out of that group that started in the late 90's.
Fantastic posti agree with this in the sense that Just is probably more technically gifted and more knowledgeable on the engineering/mixing/musical theory aspect of it.
but as far as creativity, not to say Just Blaze is not creative at all, but he's not in the same class the others who actually innovated the game. when i listen to Just Blaze beats, i'm amazed at the quality and crafting. but not necessarily at the beat itself usually. I've never thought to myself "how did JB think of doing this on that song"
For the game, I don't think Alc is on the Primo, Rza, Dre level yet don't get me wrong, but there has been times where i thought "How the fukk did he think of mixing these types of sound together" or how did he come up with this type of texture, where did he find these types of sounds. i've said it in other threads but i feel like he really found his signature sound/style after Covert Coup. as talented as JB is, i don't feel like his vision is as strong and defined. JB is a better "craftsman" overall. the other producers are better "artists" IMO.

Dude doesn't have beats like "Shook Ones Part 2" or "Ice Cream" Beats that took YEARS to figure out the sample...And the samples were not even from "rare" obscure songs...
Who cares if a rhyme is ghostwritten it doesn't make a verse any better or worse. It's easy to say something was easy after it's been done.Who cares if they are looped/chopped etc it doesnt make a beat any better or worse. Its easy to say something was easy after its been done. I agree Havoc is a better producer though.
Ice cream is just a sped up loop also, its not technically a great beat
