chiefs just have no leverage whatsoever. alex knows he was andys choice. they also dont have a ton of talent to win purely with their D. alex gives them a stable, unspectacular, but very solid option in qb
bengals and niners can technically afford to let their qbs go just off the crazy talent on both sides of the ball (but most likely they wont).
chiefs already have sunk 2 picks into alex. theyre sticking with him for next two years, either paying now or franchising him

He's being greedy because that defense that was saving his ass at the beginning of the season has 2 pro bowlers that need new contracts. And this team isn't in the best spot cap wise. If he thinks he's worth 18 mill prove it this year when we aren't playing a cupcake schedule.
