Stop it. Literally nobody said that. We've already established that Alien wasn't on earth. You're dancing around what I'm saying.
Take a decade like the 90's. 1990 and 1999 are completely different culture wise so trying to sell that the future is just the 2000's with space exploration and Androids Is weak writing. You're telling me I got a 4k camera is 2025 but in 2120 we'll be back to grainy black and white....but with Androids while 5 Tech companies run the world? Ok
I hear what you're saying and I'm not here to insult you. What I'm saying is that the tech in this show is handheld by two non negotiable things:
The technology that is *shown* in alien has to be equal to or better than that in Alien Earth. That would be completely erroneous if not.
Second is that if you go back to 1978, the technology that was futuristic was based on the expectation of technological growth from people at that time. We were 20 years away from ISS launching. So, if you compare ISS in 98 and even now, it is plausible for us to have ships that look like these.
We were 10 MORE years from that from 1080p screens. Literally the concept of 4k is *more* advanced than a space station as wild as that sounds. So, yeah, in 1978, a space station is more plausible than 8K screens.
Either way, criticizing alien earth for not having more advanced tech is a bit of a non sense (no diss) criticism since it can't be more advanced than the tech shown in a movie 35+ years old.
