I manage in a distribution center and almost every other day we talk about our plan to get agv (automated guided vehicles), layer pickers, and pallet wrappers and basically the idea is to eliminate any need for forklift and temporary picking labor. All you really need is people who understand how to plan schedules and troubleshoot issues. This shyt is coming bruhs, be in denial if you want.

Alot of this technology is being adopted already, it just isnt full force for one reason or another. Its kinda scary when you think about it.

Gonna have to be highly skilled to survive

even if you have you own businesses, big companies will be able to price you out/undercut you like never before because savings on labor and insurance, etc etc will be so great that they'll reduce price if necessary

Bingo...even companies who see the value in people will need to adapt to survive. It's Outsourcing 2.0 and just like in the naughties where companies who stayed in America/west ended up closing down, companies who won't use automation to eliminate their labour force will also die. Its market selection at its cruelest. Survival of the most efficient. Either do a stem course or start a business that won't require automation to compete. shyts about to get real
