if we are being really real here..
wayne to me and a lot of others was the wobbley wobbledy rapper.
he kinda reinvented himself and had an impressive little run.
that run though,..was mixtapes where he was rhyming over other peoples beats. you could argue that it didnt result in a quality studio album.

He did have some other studio quality albums though, right? Where do those albums take him?

Top 10, really. If we were just talking pure skill then he wouldn't even be top 25 probably, but just impact on the game as whole? Yeah he is top 10. I mean he has birthed most of these rappers these days and that speaks for itself. He did 1mil in a week.. twice. Dude was/is powerful as hell.

somewhere in the top 50-100. no trolling!!

here is my thing.

over the years i've read many critic-made and fan-made GOAT lists and never/not once have i seen him near the top ten.

he is usually on the top 10 now/currently/this year - lists, but he is nowhere near the top 10 OF ALL TIME/EVER - lists!!!!

that to me says a lot about where people see and place him in the grand scheme of things as far as hip hop is concerned!!!

Wayne's legacy is weird to me. I grew up a hot boy/lil wayne fan. I was done with dude by 500 Degreez . Even made fun of my cousin for copping the first Carter. Then outta nowhere he just blew the fukk up and became that nikka. Thing is....where's the definitive moment? He just guest rapped and mixtaped his way to the top but does he really have a consensus classic on his own like all the other guys you consider greats? When you really look at his catalog its kinda underwhelming. You damn near have to piece together the highlights and create your own projects with him because there's so much material. But you cant deny for a few years he was running shyt.

I can see where purists would say fukk this nikka, but no way I can leave him out of my personal top10. He somewhere near the bottom but he in it. I've been listening to this nikka for too long to say he not top 10, especially when they're dudes who I may have fukked with for an album or 2 and then completely ignored. Wayne been in rotation on some level for about 15 years. That gotta mean something.
