I used to not believe in CC's either. I only have one that I got in college just for emergency expenses and kept the credit limit low (like $750 or some shyt)

Until I lost my debit card overseas and moved around a lil bit so I didn't get a replacement in the mail for 2 or 3 months. I raised my limit cause I already had pretty good credit, paid for everything with my CC and since I wasn't using debit, I had the full amount of cash on hand to pay it all off every time on time. Since then my credit score and rewards looking :win:

I dont fukk with them neither but when I was house hunting I found that I didnt do enough to build credit. I had my student loans but in this country you need to build credit so what I need to do is get a credit card and buy cheap things and pay the bill on time so that I can build credit.

Normally tho I ony buy what I have money for...forget borrowing. :childplease:

I got an offer for an AMEX through the mail, not the charge card but a blue cash card, where you can make Min payments and shyt.

The thing is I heard AMEX can be a pain in the ass and change your limit or cut you off at anytime, fukking up your credit score.

I need some help

I'm handling a lawsuit now from a credit card I got when I was 18. shyt is unbearable.

I can't see myself getting another cc, but I do think it isn't the WORST thing if you're just trying to improve your credit score.

I just know I'm not fukking with it. I have a debit card, but I like paying with cash. When you can feel and actually SEE your money getting low, it prevents you from making stupid purchases.

Unless you stacks on deck, stay away from AMEX. Not a card for beginners. They cater to established and well off types. They'll give a normal dude a $500 limit card that has a annual fee of $149.

Pay your bills on time and you want have any issues. You need CC's to establish good credit. Down the road you will want a loan for a car, house, whatever...and if you don't have any credit history, you will not get one.

 That's why I was able to buy a house. I had one credit card, and a couple store cards, and a car loan. I only put things on the card that I could afford, and then paid them off before the month was over. No late payments, no maxed out cards. I didn't go buy out the mall.....just things I knew I could afford that I would've just paid with my debit card anyway. Now I'm :eat: off the perks and rewards and my credit score is:ohlawd: above 800.

It sounds to me like you guys don't trust yourselves with a CC. If you just buy what you can afford anyway, why not use the credit card to establish your credit and also get rewards? If you only buying things you can afford, it shouldn't be a problem:yeshrug:

I got one earlier this year, its actually nice to have when u use it right. I pay my bill on time (if not early) and use it for things like shoes and gas that i would buy even if i didnt have the card

it's a smart idea to have at least a few credit cards, just control your spending. I never had a late fee and plus you earn points. I got a free ticket to south korea with my credit card.

That's the card I use, it's pretty easy and convenient and the cash racks up quick. I've had the card for a little over a year, and I've already got over $500.00 cash back. I charge everything to it, and pay it off at the end of the month.

That's the equivalent of AMEX paying me $500.00 a year, just to use their card on money I was going to spend anyway.

I say again, for those of you who aren't using credit cards, you're doing it wrong.

I use credit cards. I just don't go crazy and pay the total every month. Plus, I get rewards so I get money back. I'm the minority of users who they hate. I'm making money using my credit card and never paying for fees or interest.

Plus, I buy things online and at stores that are expensive. I don't like to carry a huge amount of cash when I need to buy expensive stuff like furniture or appliances. And, there are things you need a credit card for like hotel reservation, rental car, and huge unexpected expenses like car repair.

I see we have a few Deadbeats (People who take advantage of the CC system) in here :obama:

I remember a few years ago a lot of companies were talking about implementing annual fees on cards because of people dodging interest.
