The prob's not that she can't belt out powerhouse notes.

It's that after decades of experience she should know how to craft good performances around what she can and can't do.

That crafting includes background singing, the band, picking the right key, not getting overly excited and losing vocal control, etc.

She got the band right. But that was a layup

I get it but there’s pleeeeeny artists now that don’t sound good on their own songs lol. Like I don’t know many Amerie songs that requires powerhouse singing. I mean 1 Thing is basically her screaming on a beat. It’s a great song for a karaoke singer imo. Amerie don’t have to be this amazing singer, she can just be Amerie and that’s ok
