If it's not something absolutely critical, I wouldn't recommend it.
Vacations paid for. I cancel now I'm not getting anything back. Most I could do is check with my travel ins. policy and see if this qualifies, but I doubt it covers "speculation".

So we're just gonna have to keep our fingers crossed for the 3+ hour flight.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly with no issues.

Doesn’t matter….. are they still responsible for the proper maintenance?

No. Airlines in collaboration with engine manufacturers are responsible for engine maintenance. If it's an engine issue, Boeing is not at fault

Not that the public cares about that nuance though :mjlol:

Sorry but no airplanes for me right now.

Do you use cars for transportation?

That's irrelevant.

No it isn't. Well, it probably is to the ignorant public, but otherwise it isn't

If it's not something absolutely critical, I wouldn't recommend it.

You're joking right? You know how many planes took off and landed safely, today? You know how many casualties occurred from plane travel today in the US? Zero

If you have a plane ticket, go ahead and fly. Your chances of survival are extremely excellent, despite recent news.

Sir I'm well aware of how safe planes are relative to cars. I know you think you're spitting game but you aren't. It's too much fukkery going on with these planes. I'm not fukking with them.

Frontline talks about how the FAA and Boeing work together for quality assurance. This causes conflicts of interest and lacks quality measures. I'm sure the same could be said for engine manufacturing. This isn't a Boeing problem, it is a regulatory issue.

I wouldn't call my comments "game". It's just common sense. You're giving into your irrational fears (which is your right) if you're scared to enter a plane and encourage others to do so, while happily entering a mode of transportation with higher mortality rates across the board

Again, your right to not board.

He's just a contrarian.

I mean, if you have nothing substantial to counter, it makes sense that you would aim for personal attacks next. It's cool though

I don’t know how these things work and you’re right, the public doesn’t care about nuance…. HOWEVER…. Are Air Bus having these issues at the same clip? Or are there just way more Boeings in the sky than Air Buses?

Definitely.

The FAA needs to make quality and safety assessments fully independent of aircraft manufacturers and subcontractors. They need the manpower and money to do this effectively, but good luck with this Congress...
