They’re just gonna have to drive further to the grocery store… I stayed in a ruff area as a kid and we had nothing in our neighborhood so we had to drive to the east side for groceries… now we have a food max, and that’s all we have besides a dollar general… basically stores who take ebt.

It's crazy how just crossing a street it goes from food availability in abundance to a complete food desert. Not one fresh piece of produce, but got 800 fried chicken spots, 212 chinese spots and infinite fast food options.
No they just want to open up businesses in white neighborhoods that wont patron their stores and would go bankrupt so they make those black people come to them in white areas under the guise of "support black owned businesses".
If youre not serving the black community then you really aren't a black business even if you are one. You just use that as a dog whistle for black people to keep you in business cause the white folks wont.
If a conglomerate like Walmart couldn’t survive in those communities and turn a profit, then smaller businesses wouldn’t last either and would probably close quicker.
Regardless whether it’s Black, White, or Hispanic people where you have a lot of low income you tend to have a bunch of out in the open fukkery too.
It’s a lot of fukkery in those affluent neighborhoods and areas too, but they do a much better job of keeping that shyt behind closed doors.
Those big box businesses ain’t sticking with nothing that isn’t turning a profit for them.

People really came in here to argue against black grocery stores opening in black neighborhoods.

just saw a vid of a gang of black women having a royal rumble in a chicago area walmart
at the end of the day the shyt is a business, I'd imagine Walmart has some of the best margins of any grocery/mega store so it's a lil concerning if even they can't survive in certain hoods
hopefully outlet market, aldi , or lidl give the area a try and nikkas don't bamma it up

Need black funding too. Need a commitment that the money generating into the store is going back to black owned businesses in the area. Need black men willing to patrol the area for criminals and people in the community willing to compensate them for their efforts.She asked the important question.

For the COMMUNITY to have any long-lasting staple like a grocery store, it's gonna need to be a COMMUNITY-effort to build and maintain it. We're good at saying what we want, but are we willing to sacrifice something of our own to get it?
