Idk why this a surprise

KD @ 26: 1x MVP , 4x scoring champ, 5x 1st NBA, 1x 2nd NBA, 6x All Star
SGA @ 26 (if he wins) 1x MVP, 1x FMVP, 1x Scoring Champ, 2x All star, 2X First team

on top of that he’d have given the thunder their first chip in franchise history and he had to develop into a star, didn’t get the keys right away

he stays healthy, and racks up them all nba’s and all stars,

i don’t see why he wouldn’t be. KD’s rings while real, are cheap. it is what it is

He’s going into the next year the MVP favorite as well.

He could very well have a better resume than Kd when they both retire
At the same point in their careers KD was clearly a better player. You’re lumping team success when comparing them

KD’s thunder at their peak beat this years team. KD squad just ran into much better teams. But again all this comparing is silly to begin. Can’t even enjoy the skill one guy is showing.

Rudy’s defense is too imperative for their success to move him.
He’s a liability offensively and gets exposed a lot defensively when other teams go to smaller lineups.

He was playing washed up over the hill guys the first two rounds. Now that he’s playing someone with some youth and a pulse it’s giving him problems.

Just my observations though.

Sga figured it out 2-3 years ago during his his team sucked
This is simplifying what’s happening tho.

OKC’s defense is much better than Minnesota and they’re blitzing Ant every time he touches the ball or driving.

Ant still is young and has time to figure out how to better manipulate the defenses being sent at him but it’s not so black and white as SGA got it figured out and Ant is behind the curve.

I kinda look at it how Bron was being blitzed by Dallas in 2011. Like Ant he couldn’t figure out what to do because Miami was lacking the shooting and shot creation to help Bron. In this case, Ant is probably gassed from how they’re denying, fronting and running him off screens.

The Timberwolves need a PG badly:
Wayyy too many turnovers.
ANT constantly takes difficult shots.
Rudy isn't even utilized as a lob threat smh

Yea, SGA figured it out at 24. Ant is 23.

So next year will be interesting for him, just like it was for Trae, Ja, Zion, JT and maybe some other young stars who were “better” than SGA at 23 (or younger) but then got surpassed from 24 onward

And that’s not based on this series, but their play/production/efficiency all year

I thought Ant was making the right play more often than not, and the role players stepped up and made their shots (after all they did score 126 points and shot 44% from 3). They just couldn't stop the bleeding at the other end of the floor. He gets a bad whistle and has the entire focus of the defense spotlighting his every move, so expecting him to just chuck up bad shots instead of moving the ball leading to better quality shots, as if it'll make a difference, is a backwards critique.

Minny doesn't have a proper guard to take the pressure off him and his frontcourt can't do shyt offensively.

That's really been the difference in this series.
