ANY REASON FOR A BLACK MAN TO NOT HIT THE GYM?

Something has always stuck with me..

In high school me and my korean homie took weightroom for gym..I remember we couldn't bench 135..that was the standard..to lift those 45s..
2 weeks after started I was throwing it up.

I remember he told me and my homie that

"Man fukking black dudes get stronger fast"

Then At my last job me and a 55 yr old breh who lifts 5 days a week worked the truck lifting mad boxes..when the white dudes would do it they'd complain and always get injuries and shyt :mjgrin:

Stop wasting that African blood and hit the gym:ufdup:


And yes I started lifting again and I'm feeling myself but the point remains:mjgrin:

Won't front ..I cant even hit them 35s 5 times :mjgrin:


But in high school playing football 45s was the standard like damn near it should be a warmup if you wasn't hitting em you was weak and getting clowned.


You got a grace period if you started lifting in the spring but by summer you better had got on it:ufdup:

The key to looking youthful as a black person is to keep yourself fit. I know this guy at my about to be 50, he looks late 30's. My weight got up 231lbs(6'5"), I have already lost 10 to be 221. Been going to the gym to lift every morning. since early march. I hope by may I am back at 205 lbs. At that weight I look my best. lol, im about to be back the dating field so I need to be at my best.

As a weightlifter, it dont just gotta be weights. We got stress and high blood pressure working against us.

Get that run in fam. We dont have the luxury of "health at every size".

Throw fasting in and minimalizing meat. Trying to go back to the ways of only eating meat at celebrations

you aint gotta be lean, but you must be agile, and have flexibility and functional control

Workout at home or anywhere. The gym is cool, but it ain't the one and only. No reason why you can't do push-ups and bodysquats at home.

You should at least do 100-200 push-ups and 200 bodysquats at home everyday just to wake up. It takes less than 10 minutes.

If you can do bodysquats how do you lift yourself out of a chair? If you can't do triceps dips, and push-ups these are very basic exercises.

I work with people everyday 70 years old "my husband fell on the floor, he can't get up and I'm 67 I can't pick him up, can you send an ambulance?"

Dont use the "I don't have a gym membership" "I couldn't make it to the gym today" "I can't afford a gym payment this month" excuse. Buy some dumbells (plenty of used ones, they don't expire like milk 20lb dumbbell will always be a 20lb dumbbell) or invest in some equipment so you can work out at home.

Even if you don't have the space for a bow flex or bench press, buy a jump rope.

damn breh 231 was alot on you? I'm only 5'8, 190 and I'm still on the slim, muscular side :patrice: when I was at 200 earlier this year, I still wasn't fat, was most of the weight in your stomach? Had that pot belly?

real talk.. i'm about to make the switch to calisthenics/body excersizes. just dont have the drive to be there and share equipment
