Pakistan is a poor country. Olympic athletes usually need a financial backing to train without a job. India has that kind of money.

India is a poor country too! There's a quarter of a billion living below the poverty line and another quarter billion living on or just above it. The middle class in India is probably around 100 million at the most and for the majority of them, middle class means the same as being working class in a western country. Only those from upper class families will have secure enough financial backing to be professional athletes.

For example my extended family are all middle class but my cousins couldn't afford to get a degree with the backing of their parents alone. My parents stepped in and helped out with that a lot.

Well they're not everywhere, but wherever they are there (normally mountain areas and hills), it would be a good idea to secure your valuables.
